The hit show Ted Lasso will be back for a fourth season! Apple TV has given fans a sneak peek, revealing that the always-positive Ted (Jason Sudeikis) is taking on a new coaching role. This time, he’s returning to Richmond to coach a women’s soccer team in a lower league, offering a new twist on the show’s classic underdog story with a whole new team and a different side of the sport.

As a huge fan, I’m so excited for the new season! It looks like it’s really embracing taking chances – the trailer shows Ted and the team leaping before they look, which is awesome. What I love is that while things are changing (Ted’s now coaching a women’s team!), it still feels true to what made the show special in the first place: its heart and belief in people. It’s not just bringing back characters for the sake of nostalgia; there’s a real purpose here. Honestly, Ted Lasso meant so much to a lot of us – it was such a feel-good hit for Apple TV after it came out in 2020, and became a genuine part of our culture with all its kindness. The show (and the people behind it like Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jack Burditt) won tons of Emmys, so there’s definitely high expectations! This fourth season feels like both continuing that amazing story and seeing if they can recapture that magic again.

I’m so excited to hear the whole crew is back together! Seeing Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift return to Richmond feels like coming home. And it’s awesome they’re adding some fresh faces too – Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely are going to be great! Behind the scenes, Jason Sudeikis is still leading the charge as an executive producer, along with Brendan, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, and Bill Wrubel. Plus, Burditt is joining them as an executive producer with a new deal with Apple TV. Brett Goldstein is back writing and producing too, alongside Leann Bowen, and Bill Lawrence is executive producing through his company. It’s really cool that the show still keeps that original feel from the NBC Sports broadcasts – that’s where it all started, and it’s what made me fall in love with it in the first place!
