This would reverse the original story, with Kevin playing the role of the intruder as he tries to get back inside – both the house and his child’s life – while avoiding traps set by his son. This new angle likely wouldn’t leave much space for a return appearance by the original burglars, played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern.
