Peter Overton’s upcoming 60th birthday bash is at risk of being ruined by celebrity drama.

Jessica Rowe, 55, is organizing a birthday party for her husband, the famous newsreader, but she’s having trouble getting responses from many of his celebrity friends, including Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban.

Now that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have finalized their divorce, their daughter, Jess, is finding it difficult to convince them to be in the same place at the same time, according to Woman’s Day.

According to a source, Pete has worked in the television industry for years and has developed a wide network of friends, including people at all the major networks and numerous celebrities from around the world.

Running into friends from different circles is always a little awkward, but Jess is now in the difficult position of having to bring Nicole and Keith together at an event so soon after their difficult split.

The journalist, who lives in Sydney, was a neighbor of Nicole Kidman and often saw her and Keith Urban when they visited Australia. His nephew, Rechner, 23, is friends with Nicole’s daughter, Sunday Rose, 17.

As a lifestyle observer, I’ve noticed it’s been quite a while since Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have been spotted out together publicly. It’s been several months – since they announced their separation back in September, actually – and the lack of public appearances has definitely been noticeable.

They said Pete really wished Nicole, Keith, and their daughters could join them, but it didn’t seem likely.

According to a source, it might be difficult to get responses from Lisa Wilkinson and Karl Stefanovic, who have been rumored to have a long-standing feud, and also from Channel Seven personalities Matt Shirvington and Natalie Barr.

They concluded by mentioning that Jess was putting in a lot of effort to convince Pete’s famous friends to overcome their disagreements and come to the party.

Jess is determined to make this a memorable occasion for Pete, and that includes inviting all the people he cares about, even if those people don’t get along with each other.

Oh, poor Pete! He’s been through so much lately, with everything going on with his health, and I just desperately want his day to be perfect. I can’t bear the thought of anything spoiling it for him – he deserves all the happiness in the world!

Pete wouldn’t want his birthday to be all over the news, so Jess hopes everyone can set aside any personal conflicts, like divorces or feuds, just for the night.

The news comes after a difficult year for the power couple. 

In March, the longtime Nine News presenter had to stop working and have surgery on his voice box after doctors found a growth on his vocal cords.

Despite a difficult situation, Jess and her teenage daughter Giselle found a way to laugh about Peter’s health problem.

The former TV host, who now creates podcasts, shared with Daily Mail that her husband, after being off work for several months, was thrilled to return.

‘Peter is good. He’s all good,’ Jess said at Marie Claire’s International Women’s Day luncheon. 

It was definitely frightening when it happened, but it’s wonderful to have him back at work. He’s really enjoying being back, and honestly, we’re all glad to have some space again.
