Callum Turner has had a packed year, juggling potential involvement as the next James Bond with acting roles in films like Rosebush Pruning and Rose of Nevada. He’s also starring in Possession, a remake of a popular 1980s psychological horror film, and we’re getting a sneak peek!
Parker Finn, the director behind Smile, is writing and directing a new film starring Turner and Margaret Qualley. The movie centers on a couple experiencing a particularly nasty and supernatural divorce.
Following recent photos of Qualley on set, Turner has been seen with his co-star for the first time. New pictures from filming show Turner with what looks like blood on his face and sweater, and Qualley wearing a purple dress.
Originally released in 1981, this movie was written and directed by Polish filmmaker Andrzej Żuławski and starred Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani. Though it initially sparked debate due to its violent content, it’s now considered a beloved cult film.
Rotten Tomatoes reports that 87% of critics gave the original psychological horror a positive review, based on 46 ratings.

I read an interview with Finn in Entertainment Weekly back in 2024 about the remake, and he mentioned how important it was for him to stay true to the original but also bring something fresh to it. It sounds like they’re really trying to strike a good balance – respecting what everyone loves while still making it their own! Robert Pattinson is producing which is exciting.
He described their upcoming movie as being intense, wild, and completely over-the-top. While it will capture the energy and aggression of the first film, it will also build on that foundation, offering fresh ideas and a deeper connection to the original story.
