Apple Original Films just released the first trailer for Matchbox The Movie. This fast-paced action film, directed by Sam Hargrave and featuring John Cena, turns the classic Mattel die-cast toy brand into an exciting international spy story.
Written by David Coggeshall, the story follows a close-knit group of friends whose quiet lives are disrupted when Sean (played by John Cena), a former friend who’s been gone for years, comes back to town. It turns out Sean is now a secret CIA agent, and their reunion quickly turns into a dangerous, worldwide chase as he accidentally pulls his friends into a mission to save the world.
So, I’m super excited about this movie! It’s a team-up project made with Skydance Media and Mattel Films, and they’ve got an amazing cast – Jessica Biel, Arturo Castro, Sam Richardson, Teyonah Parris, Danai Gurira, Golshifteh Farahani, Corey Stoll, and Bill Camp are all in it. A bunch of big names like David Ellison and Dana Goldberg are producing, with Hargrave, Patrick Newall, and Elizabeth Bassin helping out as executive producers. It’s shaping up to be a really cool production!
