X Factor star Lucie Jones gives birth! Welsh singer welcomes her first child and shares adorable name and photos

Lucie Jones, who rose to fame on The X Factor, shared exciting news on Instagram Friday – she and her partner have welcomed their first child, a daughter!

The 34-year-old singer shared some cute pictures on social media announcing they are expecting a baby with their partner, George Hersey, who owns a restaurant.

Lucie, a star on the popular ITV show in 2009, shared the adorable name she and George have picked for their daughter.

Lucie announced the arrival of her daughter, Elowen Hersey-Jones, calling her ‘the most perfect angel’ and saying she’s completely changed their lives. She and her partner are absolutely in love with her.

Many friends shared congratulatory messages, including Giovanna Fletcher, wife of McFly’s Tom Fletcher.

The Welsh singer quickly found love with George after ending her eight-year marriage to Ethan Boroian.

This couple started dating recently, but they’ve been friends for a long time, and their friendship eventually turned into something more.

Lucie became well-known after appearing on the 2009 series of The X Factor, where she finished eighth. That season also included now-famous contestants like Olly Murs and Stacey Solomon, and Joe McElderry was the winner.

She represented the UK at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, performing ‘Never Give Up on You.’ She scored 111 points and finished in 15th place.

After she was voted out of the X Factor, Lucie went on to find huge success in musical theatre.

As someone who keeps a close eye on rising talent, I was really impressed with this young performer! She actually played Cosette in Les Misérables alongside Nick Jonas, and then took on the role of Meat in the 2013 We Will Rock You arena tour – talk about range! It’s exciting to see such versatility early in a career.

In 2016, she starred as Elle Woods in the UK tour of Legally Blonde the Musical and also played Maureen Johnson in a production of Rent.

Lucie is performing in London’s West End again, currently playing the role of Fantine at the Sondheim Theatre through April.

Lucie performed at the Glastonbury Festival for the first time earlier this year at Worthy Farm.

Lucie admitted she was ‘delighted to be involved’ ahead of the three-day stint.

The singer once competed for the United Kingdom in Eurovision, and has said that the competition completely transformed her life.

She shared that she’s still friends with some of her former co-stars, like Joe McElderry, and is actually going to Ibiza with him.

Lucie announced the exciting news on Instagram with her official Glastonbury poster.

I’m absolutely thrilled to announce I’ll be heading to Worthy Farm! I can hardly contain my excitement – I’m going to be performing at Glastonbury in 2025!

The performance featured a fantastic band led by Jon Ranger (@jonrangerinsta) and expertly sound-engineered by Jonny (@noisebyjonny).

I’m excited to be the first musical theatre performer at this festival, and I hope to make history with my performance.

So excited to welcome Glastonbury ticket holders to Astrolabe this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday! Let’s have an amazing time together – let’s lose ourselves in the music and good vibes!
