Ghosts Season 5 Officially Confirms Exciting New Casting Change

In season 6 of Ghosts, a newer cast member will become a series regular, meaning they’ll appear in more episodes. This character is connected to Sam, one of the show’s main characters, and will have a more significant role in the CBS comedy.

During the Ghosts panel at San Diego Comic Con in 2026, with actor Utkarsh Ambudkar present, it was revealed that Ben Feldman, known for his role in Superstore, will be joining the show as a series regular. Feldman first appeared in a guest role during the fourth season and will now have an expanded role as Kyle in the upcoming season, set to premiere in early 2027 after the holiday specials. His addition will bring a new dynamic to the story, particularly to Sam’s (Rose McIver) storyline.

As a big fan of Ghosts, I’ve always loved Kyle! Like Sam, he can see the ghosts, and honestly, he’s been such a vital addition to the show. When Sam and Jay are off dealing with things outside Woodstone Mansion, Kyle steps in as a kind of ‘ghost babysitter,’ keeping them connected to the world. Daniel Feldman is absolutely hilarious in the role, and everyone’s been raving about his performance since the beginning. It felt totally natural when he became a series regular – I’m really hoping we get to see even more depth and development for his character in season 6!

The fifth season of Ghosts ended with a cliffhanger, as the character Pete (played by Richie Moriarty) mysteriously disappeared. According to co-showrunner Joe Wiseman, we’ll learn what happened to him early in the sixth season, but his story won’t be resolved quickly – it will be a key part of the season’s overall arc. Unfortunately, Ghosts season 6 won’t be part of CBS’s usual fall lineup; instead, it will premiere later in the season.

Fans won’t have to wait as long as they thought to see the ghosts of Woodstone Mansion again! After two holiday specials – one for Halloween and one for Christmas – aired earlier this year, the show is keeping the momentum going into its sixth season. Co-showrunner Joe Port revealed the Christmas special will take inspiration from the movie Die Hard, and the Halloween special will introduce Hetty’s sister, Margaret, who has a mustache. Plus, actor Brandon Feldman is now a series regular, meaning Ghosts on CBS shows no signs of slowing down.
