Summary
- Acne Studios celebrates one year of its Aoyama flagship with another Apollinaria Broche collaboration
- The moment includes a rooftop and in-store installation of new ceramic characters by the French-Russian artist, alongside a three-piece tee capsule
To celebrate its first anniversary, Acne Studios’ Tokyo store is hosting a delightful takeover by artist Apollinaria Broche. The Swedish fashion brand is collaborating with Broche again, filling the entire store with charming installations and wearable art.
The event features nine playful, oversized sculptures displayed on a rooftop. These pieces are inspired by vintage figurines and each introduces a unique character: Suisui, a horse with three legs; Emru, a sleepy white bunny; Daisy the cat, who appears to be lost in a floral dream; and Bimbi, an adorable baby deer standing playfully on its hind legs.
Small ceramic figures are placed around the store, adding touches of charm and unexpected delight to the modern design. These pieces reveal a gentler side of the artist, who is also famous for her dreamy, flowing flower sculptures.
Okay, so this artist has worked with Acne before, and it’s super cool to see her style come back! It reminds me of the first time she collaborated with them – they had these amazing ceramics and accessories in Fall/Winter 2021. Then there was that adorable Lunar New Year collection in 2023 featuring Bun Bun, the rabbit character. This new stuff feels like a continuation of all those awesome designs; it’s got that same charming vibe!
To celebrate the anniversary, a special collection of three t-shirts is also being released. These are only available at the Aoyama store and include fitted short-sleeve shirts and a crewneck, all featuring the characters Bimbi, Suisui, and a hedgehog.
