Lucinda Strafford is appearing on Love Island for the fourth time, and while she hasn’t found lasting romance, the show keeps providing her with work.
Currently, the influencer is staying at the Love Island All Stars villa near Cape Town, South Africa, where she made a dramatic arrival last week.
The other contestants were shocked to see her, but viewers weren’t as surprised – Lucinda has become a familiar face on the show.
She first became known on Love Island in 2021, then appeared on the Australian version of the show in 2023. Most recently, she competed on Love Island Games last October.
She won half of the $250,000 (£182,000) prize after she and her partner, Isaiah Campbell, won the competition. Interestingly, she later shared that she had begun dating a different contestant just weeks after the show ended.
However, even a large sum of money might not be enough to support Lucinda’s lavish lifestyle, filled with stays at luxury hotels, expensive clothing, and travel to the world’s most opulent destinations.
She’s been spotted in glamorous locations like Saint-Tropez and Bali, at the Formula One Grand Prix in Miami, and at the popular Coachella music festival in the Colorado desert.
She shares every detail of her travels on social media, and her two million+ followers on TikTok and Instagram are wondering how the 26-year-old, who used to be a flight attendant, can afford such a lavish lifestyle.
The Daily Mail has discovered that billionaire Huayi Huang, 38, is covering the costs. Huang owns the Australian online fashion company Peppermayo and has long been rumored to be romantically involved with the person in question.
People close to the couple say he pays for her expensive lifestyle. She enjoys luxurious dinners, short breaks within the UK, and travels internationally with Huayi on trips sponsored by the Peppermayo brand.
Lucinda has taken at least eight lavish trips with the Sydney-based company, such as attending the Miami Grand Prix and Coachella, with all costs covered – including luxurious accommodations, travel, and meals. She’s also reportedly received numerous new clothes.
Okay, so it all started last March in Mexico! There were photos EVERYWHERE of Huang and Lucinda absolutely screaming at each other by the pool – it was intense, honestly. She tried to play it cool with the reporters, saying they were ‘just friends,’ but come ON! I’ve been following them both for years, and that wasn’t the vibe of ‘just friends’ at all. It was… something. I knew then there had to be something more going on, even if she was trying to deny it. I’ve been obsessed ever since, trying to piece it all together!
Lucinda has also shared videos to Snapchat of the couple at parties and downing shots together.
Lucinda’s former boyfriend has hinted that she’s now dating someone who isn’t on the show.
Zac Nunn, Lucinda’s partner from Love Island Australia, shared on Snapchat that she’s now with someone who is okay with her appearing on dating shows even while they’re together. He thinks everyone from the show should know about this arrangement.
Lucinda loves sharing her life online. Recently, she posted a TikTok of herself smiling and dancing at a basketball game.
The caption reads: ‘Dance if you are on your 8th Peppermayo brand trip in 8 months’.
She also gives viewers a look inside the Tower Penthouse at The Londoner hotel in Leicester Square, a suite that usually costs over £7,000 per night.
Lucinda frequently receives extravagant gifts, like massive rose bouquets worth a lot of money, often delivered to her hotel rooms. She’s also known to travel to events by helicopter.
However, a source familiar with the star describes the deal with Huayi as unusual, hinting that Lucinda can be challenging to work with.
According to one source, Lucinda is incredibly self-absorbed and has a very high opinion of herself. If someone compliments her appearance, she simply acknowledges that she already knows she’s beautiful, coming across as arrogant and conceited.
The person I spoke to described the situation with Huayi as strange. Apparently, everyone was aware that he was paying for her expenses, and she didn’t seem to mind. They added that Lucinda is self-centered and generally unpleasant.
Towards the end, viewers started to feel sympathy for Huayi and questioned his motives. It was widely known he was financially supporting her before she returned to the Love Island villa.
She says she recently bought a new house in her hometown of Brighton, and that she financed it herself. The house features a kitchen island and a large garden.
She has certainly earned well from her many Love Island appearances.
According to a source, Lucinda isn’t returning to television for the money; she wants to stay in the public eye, and the show’s producers welcome her back because she creates interesting conflicts.
It’s said she’s earning £3,500 per week on the current season of Love Island All Stars. This is in addition to the £90,000 she won on the Games show last year.
