I just checked out Okuda San Miguel’s new exhibit, Ancestral Futurism, at W1 Curates in London, and wow! It’s his first big immersive show, and it totally blew me away. The whole space on Oxford Street has been transformed – it’s seriously cool.
The exhibit offers a new way to experience the work of this Spanish artist by recreating iconic pieces as immersive digital worlds. Visitors will encounter his recognizable shapes, fantastical creatures, vibrant colors, and familiar motifs. The show follows the development of his artistry, showcasing how he moved from street art and painting into sculpture, installations, and finally, digital creations.
Essentially, Ancestral Futurism explores living in harmony. Artist Okuda envisions a world where diverse backgrounds, traditions, and styles come together – mixing natural elements with technology, old ideas with new ones, and realistic depictions with imaginative concepts.
The exhibition, displayed on W1 Curates’ large screens, invites visitors to truly experience the art, encouraging them to take their time and appreciate it instead of just quickly glancing at it like they might on social media.
