Before Peculiar Stars was even released in bookstores, several companies were eager to adapt it for the screen. Following the huge success of her Empyrean series, many streaming services wanted to work with author Rebecca Yarros, and Apple TV ultimately secured the rights.
The upcoming romance novel, Peculiar Stars, will be released on November 17, 2026, and is available for pre-order now. Even before publication, Apple TV has secured the rights to turn it into a television series. Author Rebecca Yarros will executive produce through her production company, Full Measures Production, and Apple TV is currently searching for a writer to adapt the book for the screen.
Apple TV has become known for high-quality science fiction series like Silo, Foundation, For All Mankind, Pluribus, and Severance. It’s also gained recognition for crime dramas such as Slow Horses and Lucky, but hasn’t yet made a big impact with romance. While Apple TV offers some romantic titles, including the historical drama The Buccaneers and Eternity starring Elizabeth Olsen, its new series Peculiar Stars signals a stronger move into the genre.
