Kesha commands attention in wacky gown adorned with giant flowers as she goes barefoot on red carpet at MusiCares Person of the Year Gala ahead of 2026 Grammys

Kesha turned heads when she arrived at the MusiCares Person of the Year Gala in Los Angeles on Friday night, sporting a striking and unforgettable outfit.

The 38-year-old singer made a striking appearance in a sheer gown completely adorned with large, colorful flowers in shades of pink, white, and orange.

Completely surrounded by a huge bouquet of flowers, she confidently posed for photos. She really stood out with her unusual outfit, and even took her shoes off to walk the red carpet barefoot.

Kesha was among the many famous performers at the gala celebrating Mariah Carey. Carey was named MusiCare’s Person of the Year.

She changed out of her bright and unusual red carpet outfit for a much more daring and glamorous look when she performed on stage.

The singer, known for her song ‘Praying,’ showed off her physique in a very revealing, sheer sequin dress. The dress was so sheer that her black underwear and bra were visible underneath.

Kesha paired leather boots reaching her knees with tinted sunglasses while powerfully singing Mariah Carey’s 2009 song, “Obsessed.”

She wore the same outfit again on Friday night, this time pairing it with a fashionable faux-fur jacket when she arrived at the Grammys party hosted by Epic Records and Hennessy at the Sunset Tower Hotel.

Mariah received an award recognizing her long and successful career, as well as her commitment to charity, at a glamorous event during Grammy weekend.

Jennifer Hudson, Charlie Puth, Busta Rhymes, and the Foo Fighters were among the artists who performed to honor her incredible music that evening.

Performances by Adam Lambert and Teddy Swims were particularly praised. Lambert delivered a moving version of “Can’t Let Go,” while Swims powerfully sang “Without You.”

Even Stevie Wonder showed up unexpectedly, sharing with Mariah, “What’s amazing about both of us is the respect and love we have for each other.”

Throughout the evening, Babyface, SZA, Richard Marx, Rita Wilson, Kim Burrell, and Gayle King all took to the stage as presenters.

Mariah received a standing ovation when she accepted the award, playfully noting the presence of many people she knew – colleagues, those she’d always looked up to, and even a few she hadn’t expected to see.

Looking back on the experience, the pop star shared that receiving the award was a deeply meaningful moment, both personally and professionally.

Tonight was incredible. It feels unreal to hear my songs interpreted by such amazing artists.

As a young girl, I used to write song lyrics in my notebook, often late at night, and I always hoped someone would connect with them someday.

I never imagined I’d experience something like this – hearing these incredible artists perform my songs, adding their own unique flair, and completely reimagining them. It’s incredibly moving, and I’m deeply grateful.

Mariah was honored for both her incredible musical talent and her commitment to giving back. She also worked hard to raise money for organizations that support the health and wellness of people in the music industry.

According to MusiCares Executive Director Theresa Wolters, Mariah Carey’s impact goes beyond just her incredible talent.

She regularly uses her influence to directly help communities, offering practical support during times of crisis, investing in young people, and creating opportunities for those who need them most.

The executive explained that her work perfectly represents MusiCares’ core mission: building support networks that help music professionals and their communities succeed.

Naming her Person of the Year recognizes not only her amazing music, but also her commitment to helping people and making the world a better place.
