With the recent success of The Odyssey, excitement is building for summer movies, and fans won’t have to wait long for the next big release: Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in theaters in just over a week.
The latest Spider-Man movie follows Peter Parker (Tom Holland) as he tries to get his life back on track after the dramatic events of No Way Home, which caused everyone to forget who he is.
I’m really hoping Peter can get back in touch with MJ and Ned! From what I’ve heard, this movie’s gonna be a long one – around 2 hours and 25 minutes, according to the BBFC. So, plenty of time to see if they can reconnect, hopefully!

At 147 minutes long, this movie is the second-longest Spider-Man film – just slightly shorter than No Way Home, which runs for 148 minutes. The previous films in the series, Homecoming and Far From Home, had runtimes of 133 and 129 minutes respectively.
The film, Brand New Day, has officially received a 12A rating. According to the BBFC, this means it contains some moderate violence, frightening moments, depictions of injury, and hints of strong language.
What to Read Next
Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon are all returning as their characters, but a new director, Destin Daniel Cretton, is taking over from Jon Watts.
The show also features a strong supporting cast, including Michael Mando, Mark Ruffalo, and Jon Bernthal returning as Scorpion, Hulk, and Punisher. Tramell Tillman joins the cast as Bill Metzger.
I’m really excited about Sadie Sink joining the cast, though we don’t know her role yet. Everyone’s guessing she’ll be Jean Grey, and honestly, it makes a lot of sense. She’s got the red hair, and now that Marvel owns the X-Men, it feels like a pretty safe bet!
As a huge fan, I remember hearing whispers for months about Tobey and Andrew showing up in No Way Home – it was one of those things everyone just knew was happening! Producer Amy Pascal basically admitted that was the case, calling it one of the worst-kept secrets in Marvel history. It was fun to see those rumors finally confirmed!

Everyone expected to see multiple Spider-Men in the latest film, and despite attempts at secrecy, it wasn’t a surprise, according to producer Amy Pascal. She praised the production crew for successfully keeping other details under wraps.
You know, as a movie fan, I really think people want to be surprised. We don’t want to have everything spoiled or figured out beforehand. That feeling of shock, wonder, and just being genuinely surprised – that’s what makes going to the movies so great, and I think that’s what audiences are really hoping for.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is released in UK cinemas on 29 July.
