For a decade, Tylko, a company based in Warsaw, has been creating custom shelving and sofas designed to perfectly complement today’s homes. Now, they’re expanding into audio with their first line of high-fidelity sound systems.
So, I heard about this cool new speaker range, and the story behind it is pretty interesting. It all started when Tylko was setting up their first showroom in Berlin. The architect they were working with, Paul Cournet from CLOUD, started messing around with the idea of building sound systems into the furniture. Everyone thought it would mess with the audio quality, you know, make it sound muffled or weird. But Paul teamed up with this audio engineering studio called Form Follows Frequency out of Rotterdam, and they actually made it better. They didn’t just maintain the sound quality, they boosted the bass and made the resonance way richer. It’s a really clever design!
Cournet explains that great sound in a space comes down to thoughtful design, and believes their speakers are key to creating an ideal listening environment. Essentially, Tylko Sound helps transform your home into a perfectly tuned room for enjoying music.
Tylko created the Coax Speaker using Baltic birch plywood to perfectly blend sound quality with stylish design. This material not only enhances audio clarity but also matches Tylko’s existing shelves, where the speaker is meant to sit.
The main speakers in this hi-fi system can be enhanced with optional subwoofers built from the same durable material. These speakers are available in several stylish, high-gloss colors like “Signal Red,” “Mint Green,” and “Chalk White” to give any room a sophisticated feel.
Tylko co-founder Ben Kuna explains that people have become less focused when listening to music, losing the intentional and attentive experience it once held in many homes. He believes music powerfully evokes emotion, and Tylko Sound was created to help people reconnect with that experience and make space for music in their everyday lives.
