Siân Brooke, known for her role in Blue Lights, has hinted at a shocking storyline in the new season of Channel 4’s The Undeclared War, which begins airing tonight.
This thriller centers on a top team of analysts at GCHQ who are secretly defending the UK from a wave of cyber attacks.
Brooke discussed her role with Metro before the season two premiere. She plays Barbara, Danny Patrick’s wife and a colleague at GCHQ, marking her first appearance in the series.
In season two, the team face a foreign-backed malware attack while a mole operates in their midst.
So, I was reading an interview with Brooke, the actress, and she was talking about getting ready to play her character. Apparently, she didn’t actually get to visit GCHQ itself, but she did get to chat with people who work there, which she said was really helpful for understanding the role.

Brooke also discussed the upcoming fourth season of the popular BBC police drama, Blue Lights, which will debut later this year.
She shared that when Grace retires from the police force, she’ll always remember her time with fondness.
Recalling how her father was a police officer, she added: “It was part of the tapestry of my youth.
I always knew my buddy was involved with something… his friends were all part of ‘the force,’ whatever that was. I’d overhear his phone calls, and then they’d all show up at our place after work, grabbing a drink and just hanging out. It was weird, but that’s just how it was.
The people involved spend so much time traveling together in a car, experiencing all sorts of unusual and challenging situations. It’s inevitable that they develop really strong connections with one another, and that’s a key part of what makes the show special.
