To celebrate adding wagamama to Uber Eats, they’ve created “Drift Deliveries,” a fun campaign inspired by Tokyo’s street racing scene, to deliver the restaurant’s tasty Pan-Asian food right to your door.
This week, customers ordering from the London Wigmore Street wagamama will get a special delivery experience thanks to Uber Eats. Instead of the usual bikes and scooters, orders will be brought by a custom-wrapped 1998 Toyota Chaser drift car, designed with fiery red chrome and flame graphics. To ensure speedy and hot deliveries of favorites like katsu curry and gyozas, Uber Eats has teamed up with British Drift Champion Ollie Evans to drive the car.
Merve Basci, General Manager at Uber Eats UK, explained that Uber Eats and wagamama wanted to make food delivery more exciting. With wagamama now available to more customers through Uber Eats, they launched ‘Drift Deliveries’ to transform a regular order into a fun and surprising experience, reflecting the vibrant energy of the food itself.
Mark Chambers, CEO of wagamama UK, explained that wagamama is committed to serving fresh, made-to-order, flavorful food. Expanding to Uber Eats allows even more people throughout the UK to enjoy their favorite dishes, no matter where they are. To mark this launch, wagamama created ‘Drift Deliveries’ – a campaign inspired by Japanese culture and designed to showcase the brand’s energy, passion, and speed.
If you weren’t able to get a Drift Delivery this week, Uber Eats is hosting a fun food-themed drifting competition! From July 21st to 23rd, Uber Eats customers who order from wagamama across the country can enter an online drawing. A few lucky winners will then get to compete in a high-speed challenge for a chance to win free wagamama for a whole year. Uber One and Soul Club members will get double the entries, increasing their chances of winning!
