Summary
Buffer is launching a new line of ‘The Land Before Time‘ T-shirts, designed to look like souvenirs from a fictional theme park. The collection features three shirts: the “Little Foots” tee with artwork by Shuntaro Takeuchi, the “Stamp” tee that looks like it’s been worn by kids playing in the park, and the “Dinosaur Park” tee which shows the movie’s characters together in a new scene.
Buffer, the graphic label from HUMAN MADE Inc., is releasing a new collection of three T-shirts inspired by the classic 1988 animated movie The Land Before Time. But instead of just using the film for licensing, they’ve created an imaginary world around it – as if it were a real theme park. Each shirt looks like a souvenir you might find in that fictional park’s gift shop, with Buffer’s unique artistic style applied to the beloved dinosaur characters.
The collection has a unifying creative idea, but each item expresses it uniquely. For example, the “Little Foots” t-shirt features artwork by Shuntaro Takeuchi, designed as if it were an official poster created by Buffer. The graphic focuses on Littlefoot, the main character from the original movie. It comes in black and white and is a classic style of graphic tee, but Takeuchi’s distinctive art makes it stand out from typical licensed merchandise.
The “Stamp” t-shirt is a unique take on branded merchandise. Its design features an illustration of kids wearing the shirt while at an amusement park – essentially showing how it’s meant to be used. It’s available in White and Black, and customers are limited to buying two shirts each.
The “Dinosaur Park” t-shirt completes the set with its most expansive design – a wide view showing the film’s dinosaurs during an exciting moment, illustrated in Buffer’s signature style. This shirt is available in three colors (Green, Blue, and White) and customers can buy up to three of them.
Released in 1988 and executive produced by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, The Land Before Time tells the story of Littlefoot and his friends – Cera the Triceratops, Petrie the Pteranodon, Ducky the duck-billed dinosaur, and Spike the Stegosaurus – as they learn about bravery and friendship. The movie became a popular series with 14 films, instantly recognizable by Diana Ross’s theme song, “If We Hold On Together.” Buffer’s new collection is inspired by this world but isn’t a direct copy; it feels more like creative fan-made content than standard merchandise. Buffer’s parent company, HUMAN MADE, created by NIGO, is known for blending Japanese streetwear with reimagined nostalgic pop culture.
The The Land Before Time x Buffer collection drops July 25 via Buffer’s online store.
