Greg Davies is bringing back his popular BBC show, The Cleaner, with a special Christmas episode. This time, Robert Webb, known from Peep Show, and Peter Serafinowicz, of Amandaland, will be guest stars. Titled The Cleaner In Italy, the special will once again feature Davies as Paul ‘Wicky’ Wickstead, the UK’s go-to cleaner for crime scenes.
Created by and featuring Greg Davies (known from Taskmaster), The Cleaner is a comedy about Wicky, a professional cleaner who specializes in tidying up after very messy – and often gruesome – crimes.
So, along with Webb and Serafinowicz, there are a bunch of new faces joining the show – Kevin Eldon, Tori Allen-Martin, Veronica Ferres, Milanka Brooks, and Dylan Blore. I’m excited to see what they bring to the table!
Okay, so the setup for this new game, The Cleaner In Italy, is pretty interesting. I play Wicky, and basically, I’m dragged along on a hiking trip to the Dolomites in Italy by my girlfriend, Ruth, and her friends, Andrew and Andrea. I’m not thrilled about it, apparently – the synopsis says I’m ‘reluctantly’ joining them. Sounds like trouble’s brewing already!
After the accident, he had to stay at a secluded mountain hotel for the remainder of the trip, while Ruth continued on to enjoy outdoor activities.

Production has started on a special hour-long episode of the show, which will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer and broadcast on BBC One during the holidays.
You know, I’ve been following Wicky for a while now, and it seems like he’s really reached a point where the simple things in life make him happiest. From what I can tell, he absolutely loves his work, and when he’s not doing that, he’s either at the pub or enjoying a good beer! It’s just his thing now, and honestly, it’s kind of endearing.
Finally, I have a chance to really push his buttons by sending him on a hiking trip to Italy. I’m eager to see how he handles it, and honestly, I’m anticipating a complete disaster – and I can’t wait to share the story with everyone.
With filming now underway for a new special of The Cleaner, BBC commissioning editor Ben Caudell expressed excitement about Greg Davies reprising his role as one of his most beloved characters.
Wicky is now one of the most memorable characters in British comedy, and it’s always fun to see what unusual trouble Greg gets him into.
