Marvel Studios has at last unveiled the official trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, after a long wait! While fans who went to CinemaCon earlier this year have already seen parts of it, everyone can now enjoy the new footage in high quality. There’s plenty to analyze and discuss, including some brand-new reveals.
The latest trailer for Avengers: Doomsday expands on the earlier teasers, revealing the huge risks the heroes face and offering the clearest look yet at Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Doctor Doom. The movie will bring back fan-favorite characters and feature incredible battles between the Avengers and the X-Men, setting it up to be one of the most significant films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Xavier Witnesses An Incursion
The trailer begins with Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) looking out the window at widespread destruction. Although the specifics are unclear, it appears a planet is about to crash into Earth, suggesting a large-scale threat from across multiple universes – a concept familiar to comic book fans. This scene echoes a previous teaser for an X-Men-themed story within the Avengers universe, where Xavier and Magneto were shown together, bracing for a catastrophic event.
“An Unthinkable Decision”
The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday’s has given fans the clearest view yet of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. We see him in the villain’s classic outfit – mask, armor, hood, and green robes – and hear his voice warning the Avengers that a powerful, unstoppable force is coming, and a difficult choice will need to be made.
Okay, so here’s my take: the film strongly hints that Doom isn’t just a villain right off the bat. I think he’ll initially position himself as someone helping these heroes – teams pulled from across various universes, mind you – by offering them a deal. He’ll basically say, ‘I can save your world… but only if you let the others fall.’ It’s a really clever setup that sets him up not as a straightforward bad guy, but more of a manipulative puppet master.
Avengers & Fantastic Four Assemble
In a scene at the New Avengers’ Watchtower, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor is talking to Earth’s mightiest heroes – including members of the Fantastic Four, Sam Wilson as Captain America, and Scott Lang as Ant-Man. Despite being surrounded by such powerful allies, Thor admits he’s truly frightened by the upcoming threats, claiming they are more dangerous than anything he’s ever encountered.
Namor & Talokan
The new trailer features Shuri as the Black Panther, along with King M’Baku and other Wakandan warriors, battling Namor and his army from the underwater kingdom of Talokan. It appears Wakanda will try to team up with Talokan to fight a new danger, but their first encounter is tense—which makes sense, given the fragile peace they reached at the end of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Gambit vs Shang-Chi
The new trailer for Doomsday shows the first big fight between the Avengers and the X-Men, with Gambit (played by Channing Tatum) using his powers against Shang-Chi and his Ten Rings. Even from just a few glimpses, this battle looks like it will be a highlight of the movie, though a new shot of Cyclops (James Marsden) is also impressive.
Loki With The TVA
The new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday also includes Tom Hiddleston as Loki. But unlike his appearance at the end of Loki season 2, he’s not wearing his crown or green robes, and he isn’t shown on his throne as the god protecting the multiverse.
Loki is now seen wearing a trench coat and carrying a TVA card featuring the multiversal tree he caused at the end of his series. This hints that he’ll have a much bigger part in Avengers: Doomsday than people initially thought.
Wakanda Joins The Fight
The scene takes place in the same oceanic location where Wakanda and Talokan previously met. Shuri and King M’Baku are now meeting with members of the Avengers, New Avengers, and the Fantastic Four. This connects to an earlier teaser showing M’Baku and The Thing introducing themselves, with Black Panther explaining that the King of Wakanda focuses on preparing his people for the afterlife, while she focuses on her own responsibilities.
HERBIE!
Fans spotted the familiar robot HERBIE in the background of a recent image, standing alongside Yelena Belova, Sam Wilson’s Captain America, and Mister Fantastic. It appears HERBIE has received an upgrade since we last saw him in Fantastic Four: First Steps, which fits with the updated, more modern costumes the Fantastic Four are sporting in Doomsday.
Yelena vs Mystique
In a preview for Avengers: Doomsday, Rebecca Romijn’s Mystique, dressed in her classic white outfit from the comics, impressively transforms into Yelena Belova and battles the real Belova – hinting at an epic clash between the Avengers and X-Men. With Mystique being one of the confirmed X-Men members appearing in the film, fans are eager to discover more about this iteration of Raven, including her history with the X-Men and Magneto.
Cassie Lang
The latest trailer for Doomsday shows Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) with his daughter, Cassie (Kathryn Newton). Cassie became a superhero, Stature, in last year’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, so fans are curious about how big her role will be in the next major Marvel crossover event. She’s been hinted at as a future member of the Young Avengers, alongside Ms. Marvel and Kate Bishop, but that team hasn’t officially come together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet.
