Ant McPartlin jokingly referenced his famous TV show catchphrase as he announced he’s leaving London to move to one of the UK’s most beloved villages.
The Mail on Sunday reports that the wealthy presenter has relocated to Surrey, purchasing a large, newly built home in an upscale area for over £10 million – a record price for the street. He’s paying over £1 million in taxes on the purchase alone.
Ant McPartlin, age 50, sold his expensive home in Wimbledon, southwest London, a couple of months ago following a disagreement with his neighbors over planning issues.
Everyone here is still buzzing about it! A local told me it’s the biggest sale we’ve seen in years. It’s one of those really beautiful, private estates – a whole acre of land! Apparently, the new owner won’t have any issues with the neighbors, which is great. Honestly, it’s all anyone’s talking about around here.
Let me tell you, Ant McPartlin is incredibly secure right now! He’s just landed a fantastic £30 million deal with ITV, and it’s a long-term commitment – those ‘golden handcuffs’ mean he’s set for years. And it’s even sweeter because he’s doing it with his best friend and TV partner, Declan Donnelly. Speaking of being comfortable, Dec’s also been investing in property lately – I hear he just bought his third house on the same street! It’s great to see them both doing so well, both professionally and personally.
Ant McPartlin, who welcomed a child with his wife Anne-Marie Corbett a little over a year and a half ago, will likely feel comfortable living in this popular neighborhood known for its famous residents.
I’ve been hearing from people around town that the couple have been spotted out and about with their little boy, Wilder. Everyone says he seems really happy and friendly – always waving and saying hello when people recognize him. But honestly, we’re used to seeing famous faces here, so it’s all pretty low-key. It’s nice to see them enjoying themselves, but it doesn’t cause much of a stir!
Okay, so Ant sold his house in London right after all that drama with the planning permission, but he swears it had nothing to do with it! I don’t know, it just seemed a little suspicious to me, like he wanted to get away from it all. I’ve been following this so closely, and honestly, I think the whole thing bothered him way more than he lets on!
He withdrew his plans after residents protested that he intended to remove six mature, healthy trees from his property simply because he wanted to. The council had initially approved his garden redesign, even though a tree preservation order was in place, leading to the complaints.
Ant McPartlin purchased a £6 million, three-story house in 2019 and moved in with Anne-Marie. He had previously lived next door to his co-star Declan Donnelly in Chiswick, West London. The couple spent a significant amount – hundreds of thousands of pounds – renovating the property, adding two extensions and a swimming pool complete with Victorian-style changing facilities.
He purchased the house after a difficult period. A knee surgery gone wrong led to painkiller use, and combined with his struggles with alcohol, it almost cost him his career.
In 2017, he sought treatment in rehab for two months. He returned the following year after a car accident where he was found to be driving with a very high alcohol level. Also in 2018, he and his wife of eleven years, Lisa Armstrong, separated.
He stepped away from his television work for several months and has said his wife, Anne-Marie (who used to be his personal assistant), helped him transform his life. They married in 2021.
Ant McPartlin is the stepdad to Daisy and Poppy, his partner’s teenage daughters. He recently became a father for the first time himself, welcoming a baby in May 2024.
