Avengers: Doomsday gets ominous new teaser ahead of trailer arriving this week

A new teaser hints that the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday will be released this week. Though no new scenes have been shown yet, Marvel is building excitement for the upcoming film.

Starting last July, the official Fantastic Four social media account began posting a specific scene from their movie every Sunday evening: Reed Richards announcing that his family always has dinner together at 7pm. However, this past Sunday’s post included something extra for Marvel enthusiasts.

Just as Reed says those words, the screen goes black. We then hear Sue Storm ask, “How long do we have?” Reed responds with a grim, “Not long.”

This sounds like a clip from Avengers: Doomsday, or possibly an unreleased scene from The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Beyond hinting at future events, it also suggests that the complete trailer for Avengers: Doomsday will be released soon.

Okay, so everyone’s expecting Marvel to drop the new trailer at their Comic-Con panel on Sunday morning – it kicks off at 12:30 AM UK time. But there’s also a chance they’ll surprise us today when tickets go on sale for Avengers: Doomsday in the US, which is 2 PM our time. I’m keeping my eyes peeled either way!

Rumors about the trailer being released today are gaining traction because Fandango is advertising ticket sales with a “watch trailer” link. However, clicking that link might only lead to one of the short teaser clips that are already available.

More to follow.
