Playing Brooklyn at his own game? David Beckham cooks for Gordon Ramsay as the celebrity pals launch meal box collab

David Beckham jokingly turned the tables on his chef son, Brooklyn, by cooking a meal for renowned chef Gordon Ramsay.

The footballer, age 50, and the celebrity chef, 59, who have been friends for two decades, are working together on a new meal box delivery service.

Gordon develops high-quality recipes for Real Home Chef, a meal kit company, and has partnered with David to include his BEEUP fruit snacks in the meal boxes.

Oh my gosh, you guys, David just posted the cutest thing! He shared a video of himself making Scallop Truffle Risotto – and get this, Gordon sent him the recipe as part of their collaboration! It totally reminded me of videos of his son cooking, it was so sweet and just… perfect! I seriously couldn’t stop smiling.

The longtime friends jumped on a FaceTime so Gordon could watch over David’s cooking prowess.

David noticed a delivery at his door and asked, “What did you send me?” Gordon responded, “It’s just a small gift, from one chef to another.”

You know, I always find it amusing when products feature a very serious face – like Gordon on the box we were looking at. David, ever the playful one, couldn’t resist pointing out, ‘He could have cracked a smile!’ It just goes to show, a little warmth can go a long way, even in branding. It’s all about creating a connection, and a friendly face is a great place to start.

Gordon said, “That’s me smiling, sorry!” He explained that the box contained his five-star recipe for scallop truffle risotto, knowing it was a dish the recipient enjoys.

‘That’s very true actually. Okay so risotto, watch and learn,’ David said.

While the retired soccer player began preparing the elaborate dish, David immediately asked for feedback on his scallops, which pleasantly surprised Chef Gordon.

Gordon replied: ‘They are looking beautiful. Great sear by the way. Belissimo!’

David finished garnishing the dish with chives, saying, ‘That’s it, all done. My teacher really helped me with this.’

David announced a collaboration with his snack company, holding up a packet and explaining, ‘These meal kits are great, but they need something sweet!’

Gordon replied: ‘Your finishing touches. Well done chef.’

David’s video appeared shortly after his son, Brooklyn, faced criticism online for sharing a cooking demonstration of his spaghetti bolognese – notably without any spaghetti – following a public disagreement with his parents.

Brooklyn Beckham, 25, recently used Instagram to state he doesn’t want to repair his relationship with his parents, Victoria and Sir David Beckham. He claims they deliberately tried to split him up with his wife, Nicola Peltz, 30.

On Tuesday, 26-year-old Brooklyn posted a new video of himself cooking. It’s his first time sharing a cooking video since he made a surprising announcement.

In the video, Brooklyn demonstrated how he made his unique ‘special spaghetti Bolognese’ – which, surprisingly, wasn’t actually served with spaghetti.

People quickly responded to the celebrity’s post, and one commenter jokingly asked, ‘Is the spaghetti here with us?’

People quickly pointed out that the dish wasn’t spaghetti. One commenter jokingly called it ‘special spaghetti’ because there was no spaghetti to be seen. Another, identifying as being from Romagna, emphasized that a proper ragu sauce needs to simmer for several hours.

After a lot of responses to the post, Brooklyn replied, saying she’d planned to make spaghetti but didn’t have any left.

Last week, Brooklyn openly criticized his family in a strong, six-page statement. He claimed his parents were controlling, attempted to sabotage his marriage, and embarrassed him.

He claimed Victoria unexpectedly stopped working on his future wife’s wedding dress right before the wedding, and then took over their first dance, behaving inappropriately and dancing provocatively with him in front of all the guests.

Victoria is reportedly hurt and feels betrayed by Brooklyn’s recent, surprising comments and disclosures, especially considering she shielded him from damaging rumors for years.

Katie Hind of the Daily Mail reported that when stories emerged about Brooklyn Beckham – including rumors of past relationships and concerns about his friends – his family quickly worked to protect his reputation.

His parents have often instructed expensive lawyers to protect him against such stories.

Another source says David and Victoria Beckham are deeply upset by recent events and would return to Brooklyn immediately if they could.

Nicola shared photos from their dinner, as well as more relaxed shots of themself in bed and walking the dog, Lamb, around the property. Brooklyn, who enjoys food and cooking, also posted pictures of the beautiful kitchen garden.

Brooklyn Beckham’s parents, Sir David and Victoria, along with his brothers Romeo and Cruz and sister Harper, are showing their support from Paris, attending Haute Couture Fashion Week over 5,700 miles away.
