Currently, the platform is building an impressive collection of dramatic content, rivaling any other streaming service. With the upcoming merger between Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros., it’s set to become a major player in the global streaming market, and its newest addition is a particularly noteworthy one.
I absolutely loved Parenthood, and I’m so excited all six seasons are now available! This show, created by Jason Katims, really got to me – it’s one of those series that just understands families. And if you’re a fan of Lauren Graham, you seriously can’t miss this. It features some of her best acting, in my opinion!
If you somehow haven’t discovered her yet, you need to check out Gilmore Girls! She’s amazing in it. Then, you absolutely have to watch Parenthood, where she plays Sarah Braverman-Rizzoli. I just love her as Sarah – she’s the second oldest of the Braverman kids, a single mom to Amber and Drew, and it’s so interesting watching her navigate life and eventually find love again while also figuring out what she wants to do with her career.
Parenthood Is a Generational Family Story
Parenthood follows the lives of the large Braverman family – Zeek and Camille, their four grown children (Adam, Crosby, Julia, and Sarah), and everyone around them. Created by Jason Katims and inspired by the 1989 movie of the same name, the show portrays three generations of the family, honestly and emotionally exploring their joys, challenges, and everything in between.
The show feels authentic because it delves into the detailed lives of the Braverman family. Craig T. Nelson and Bonnie Bedelia are the heart of the series as Zeek and Camille, a married couple of 46 years who, like all long-term partners, have both unresolved issues and deep affection for each other. The cast also includes Peter Krause, Monica Potter, Dax Shepard, Mae Whitman, Erika Christensen, and Lauren Graham. In Season 4, Ray Romano joined the show in a role written specifically for him after he told creator Jason Katims how much he enjoyed it.
Lauren Graham Belongs In Stars Hollow And In Berkeley
Many people will always associate Parenthood with Gilmore Girls. This show, which aired from 2000 to 2007, followed Rory and her mother Lorelai as they dealt with life’s challenges – including college acceptances, relationships, and social circles – in a close-knit town in Connecticut.
Viewers of all ages connect with the show because of the emotional journeys of the mother and daughter as they grow and change, with each season mirroring their personal development. Sarah and Lorelai have a lot in common, and the show feels like a continuation of Gilmore Girls in its honest and touching portrayal of complex family relationships, creating drama that feels both real and deeply moving.
Parenthood will be available to stream on Paramount+ on June 1.
