The final trailer for season three of House of the Dragon is here! With the Game of Thrones prequel set to return next month, the trailer hints at an upcoming war in Westeros.
The exciting preview shows viewers what to expect: dragons, intense battles, and complex political conflicts as Rhaenyra confronts her rivals.
So, I was reading an interview with Emma D’Arcy, who plays Rhaenyra, and she told Entertainment Weekly that the new season is going to be way bigger than the first! It sounds like they really went all out with this one.

The actor said there was a real excitement reading the scripts this season. The show has become more ambitious and grand, expanding not only the drama itself, but also its overall scope.
That was a really motivating moment. It felt like a new, higher standard had been set, and as someone who loves a challenge, I was determined to rise to it.

The new episode, titled ‘Battle of the Gullet,’ is being hailed as incredibly ambitious – showrunner Ryan Condal even called it “possibly the wildest episode of TV ever created.”
D’Arcy explained that this season’s storyline kicks off with intense action. After two seasons of setup, the conflict is finally unfolding.
I really admire Ryan and the team’s writing. It takes skill to build a conflict that starts as a personal or family issue and then escalate it to affect everyone – it’s a really well-executed plot point.

D’Arcy returns with the main cast, including Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Ewan Mitchell, and Tom Glynn-Carney. Joining them this season is James Norton, who plays Lord Ormund Hightower.
HBO executive Casey Bloys has confirmed the plan for House of the Dragon to conclude after four seasons, as reported by Deadline.
From the beginning, we’ve planned to tell the story of the Targaryen family, following the path laid out in the books. Because readers familiar with the source material know how the Targaryens’ story ultimately concludes, there’s a clear and predetermined ending for this specific chapter of their history.
Season 3 of House of the Dragon premieres on HBO Max on June 22nd. You can currently stream the first two seasons on Sky, NOW, and HBO Max.
