Anderson .Paak, the acclaimed artist with nine Grammy Awards, is blending American R&B with the popular sounds of K-pop. He’s just released K-POPS! (Music from and inspired by K-POPS! Motion Picture), a unique 17-song album. It’s not just a movie soundtrack or a collection of different artists; it’s a full studio album that brings together top K-pop stars and musicians from various South Korean labels and genres, all with a funky, unified sound.

I’m so excited about this new project! It’s being executive produced by Dem Jointz, who’s worked with amazing artists like JENNIE and Eminem, and it feels like a perfect lead-up to .Paak’s first movie on Netflix. The album is packed with incredible features – seriously, it reads like a festival lineup with JID, G-DRAGON, aespa, DEAN, JO1, and Kevin Woo all showing up! Plus, it has members from some of my favorite groups like JOSHUA from SEVENTEEN, HONGJOONG from ATEEZ, and SOYEON from (G)I-DLE. And how cool is this – .Paak’s son, Soul Rasheed, is making his official music debut on the album and he’s in the movie too! It’s going to be epic.

To mark the release of his new album, .Paak has released a captivating music video for his song “Caution,” which features the group NMIXX. The song mixes deep bass, R&B vibes, and catchy pop tunes. The video itself is a stylish thriller where .Paak and NMIXX act as investigators working a big case – and suggest they might be involved in the crime itself!

This release is coming after a series of popular preview singles that generated a lot of excitement online earlier this year. Fans already heard snippets of the project with the R&B song “Aftertaste” featuring DEAN and the upbeat pop track “Keychain” with aespa. The album also includes a new take on .Paak and G-DRAGON’s 2025 hit song “Too Bad,” which was a major success, reaching the Billboard Global 200 chart and winning a MAMA Award.
