Metagirl Studio teamed up with artist Caterina Mongillo to create a special version of the classic Vans Old Skool 36 sneaker. The new design blends Mongillo’s bold, glamorous style with a tough, feminine edge.
This sneaker takes inspiration from the bold designs of the late 2000s and embraces a confident, unconventional style, challenging the typical look of skate shoes. A striking, slanted leather strap with a snakeskin pattern sweeps across the front of the shoe, embellished with sparkling rhinestones and a large, ornate gold buckle covered in gemstones. This luxurious, eye-catching hardware is intentionally contrasted by the classic Vans Sidestripe, which is given a rough, unfinished white edge, creating a dynamic balance between glamour and a gritty, edgy aesthetic.
