Fans are excited for the return of Ted Lasso with Season 4! While Apple TV hasn’t announced a specific date, the new season is expected this summer. After three seasons that aired from 2020 to 2023 and left viewers wanting more, Ted Lasso is back with Jason Sudeikis as the optimistic American football coach leading the A.F.C. Richmond soccer team. Many are wondering which familiar faces will return and who will join the cast.
Throughout its three seasons, Ted Lasso was praised for its memorable characters, compelling stories, and clever blend of American and British comedy. The show’s third season concluded with Ted returning to the United States to be more present in his son’s life—a touching and satisfying ending. Now, Ted Lasso is returning for a fourth season, and fans are eager to learn which familiar faces will return and who will be joining the cast when it premieres later this year.
Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso

Apple TV
The heart of Ted Lasso is, of course, Ted Lasso himself. While Apple TV+ could have technically continued the show without Jason Sudeikis, it’s hard to imagine fans would watch. Sudeikis is back as the beloved American football coach, now returning to A.F.C. Richmond to help with their women’s team. Though he’s famous for playing Ted Lasso and other sitcom characters, Jason Sudeikis also gained recognition through his movies. Now that Ted is back in the UK after spending time with his son Henry, viewers are eager to see what adventures await him.
Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton

Apple TV
Hannah Waddingham, the acclaimed actress known for her roles in film, television, and theater, will reprise her role as Rebecca Welton in Ted Lasso. Throughout the series, Rebecca undergoes a significant transformation, evolving from someone heartbroken by divorce into a strong and influential woman in the world of soccer. The third season ended with her finding happiness with a new partner in Amsterdam, a development Hannah Waddingham found surprisingly enjoyable given her initial portrayal of Rebecca’s pain. Fans will be eager to see if Rebecca maintains this positive trajectory in the fourth season.
Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent

Apple TV
Brett Goldstein is returning as the hilariously grumpy Roy Kent in the next season. Throughout Ted Lasso, Roy underwent a significant transformation, softening his tough exterior through his relationship with Keeley and the influence of Ted. The season 3 finale left his future with Keeley uncertain, suggesting both he and Jamie Tartt could rekindle a romance with her. Beyond that, Roy and Beard were left in charge of the team following Ted’s exit.
Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard

Apple TV
Brendan Hunt is consistently funny as Coach Beard, a quirky character with a surprising number of strange tales. The Ted Lasso episode focusing on Beard, “Beard After Hours,” initially received a lot of criticism, but some viewers came to appreciate its cleverness upon rewatching, as it offered a glimpse into his complex personality. At the end of Season 3, Beard unexpectedly chose to remain in the UK and married Jane, despite their difficult relationship, and fans are eager to learn what happens with them in Season 4.
Juno Temple as Keeley Jones

Apple TV
Many people first noticed Juno Temple in teen movies like Wild Child in the 2000s, but she’s become widely known for playing Keeley in Ted Lasso. At the end of the last season, Keeley was starting her own business and exploring life as a single woman, leaving her romantic future with Jamie and Roy uncertain. Fans are passionately debating who she should end up with, and hopefully, Season 4 of Ted Lasso will finally resolve this popular storyline.
Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins

Apple TV
I’m thrilled to hear Jeremy Swift is coming back as Leslie Higgins in Season 4 of Ted Lasso! Higgins was always a bright spot on the show – a genuinely good person with some wonderfully heartwarming connections, especially with Ted and Rebecca. He was the kind of guy who’d open his doors to anyone, even with a house full of rambunctious sons! While his storyline wrapped up pretty neatly in Season 3, I, like many fans, am definitely eager to see what adventures await him in the new season.
Annette Badland as Mae Green

Apple TV
I’m so excited Annette Badland is coming back as Mae Green! She’s the landlady at The Crown & Anchor, and honestly, she’s become one of my favorite characters. At first, like a lot of us regulars in the pub, she wasn’t too keen on Ted, but she really came around and you could tell she had a lot of respect for him. She wasn’t afraid to tell him what she thought – about his life or about Richmond’s game – and she was usually spot on! I’m really hoping they give her a bigger role this season, because she’s more than just a pub owner, and I can’t wait to see what happens with her when Season 4 finally comes out.
‘Ted Lasso’s New Season 4 Cast Members

Several original cast members from Ted Lasso haven’t been confirmed for Season 4 yet. For example, we don’t know if Nick Mohammed (Nathan Shelley), Phil Dunster (Jamie Tartt), or Anthony Head (Rupert Mannion) will be back, though that doesn’t rule it out. On the other hand, the show is adding some new actors to the cast.
- Grant Feely (Obi-Wan Kenobi, Five Nights At Freddy’s)
- Tanya Reynolds (Sex Education, Outlander, The Decameron)
- Jude Mack (Prime Target, The Man Who Fell to Earth)
- Abbie Hern (My Lady Jane, Enola Holmes 2, Peaky Blinders, The Pact)
- Aisling Sharkey (Jurassic World: Dominion)
- Rex Hayes (The Pact) – Siobhan (TBC)
- Faye Marsey (Game of Thrones, Star Wars: Andor, Adolescence)
The role of Henry, Ted’s son, is being recast. Grant Feely, recognizable from his work as young Luke Skywalker in Obi-Wan Kenobi, will now play Henry, taking over from Gus Turner. Turner will still appear in the upcoming BBC adaptation of Lord of the Flies, set to be released later in 2024.
