TOHO has confirmed that a third season of Dorohedoro is in the works! The announcement came right after the second season finished airing, meaning the anime based on Q-Hayashida’s popular manga is already being made.

The next part of the story will continue to follow Caiman, a character with amnesia and a lizard head, and his companion Nikaido as they explore the strange magic of the “Hole”. To get fans excited, director Yuichiro Hayashi released a special illustration of the demon Haru, and a new animated music video for the season’s opening theme, “Zettai Must Danmen” by the band (K)NoW_NAME, was also unveiled.

The ongoing popularity of this series celebrates a project that has cultivated a dedicated global fanbase over its 18-year run (2000-2018). Following the successful anime adaptation in 2020, fans waited six years for Season 2, which premiered in April 2026. The third season benefits from continued creative leadership, with director Yuichiro Hayashi (known for directing Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK) and the renowned animation studio MAPPA returning. While a release date for Season 3 is still to come, viewers can stream Seasons 1 and 2 on platforms like Crunchyroll and Netflix to revisit the story.
