Looking for a funny and suspenseful new show? The Irish series Obituary is now streaming in the UK. Released in 2023, it follows Elvira Clancy (Siobhán Cullen), an obituary writer who unexpectedly finds she’s good at killing people.
Elvira begins getting rid of the people the town dislikes the most, which keeps her job safe and provides her with story ideas. All the while, she has to avoid raising the suspicions of the new, attractive crime reporter.
People in the UK can now watch the complete series on ITVX, as both seasons are available together.
I was really excited to see the cast list for Obituary! It’s a new show from Ray Lawlor, and it’s got some awesome actors I already know and love. Michael Smiley from Bad Sisters is in it, as is Ronán Raftery from Gangs of London. Plus, Danielle Galligan, who I really enjoyed in House of Guinness, and Máiréad Tyers from Extraordinary are both part of the cast too. It’s shaping up to be a great one!
One Rotten Tomatoes user praised the series as “excellent all around,” highlighting the strong acting, compelling storyline, and surprising twists, ultimately calling it a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
