Love Island is coming back for its 13th season, and fans are excited for another summer of romance and drama.
Before the show premieres on Monday, ITV shared a sneak peek of the contestants, who have traveled to Mallorca hoping to find romance.
Instead of being thrilled with the new contestants on the show, people on social media felt like they’d seen them all before. Many took to X (formerly Twitter) to joke that the new cast looked like copies of Islanders from past seasons, comparing them to products from the online retailer, Temu.
It appears the show’s producers consistently cast a certain type of person, as the contestants from season 13 look very similar to those from previous seasons.
Now, the Daily Mail takes a look at this year’s Love Island doppelgƤngers.Ā
Ellie Chadwick vs Ellie BrownĀ
Ellie Chadwick from Season 13 shares a name and a striking resemblance with a previous contestant on the show.
The striking blonde woman strongly resembles Ellie Brown, a contestant from season four of the popular ITV show.
Ellie is searching for a partner while on the show, and she has a specific type: tall, dark, and handsome men.
Ellie said, ‘Don’t mess with something that’s already working ā it’s a timeless idea.’ She then described her type: someone with good looks ā nice teeth and tattoos ā and a preference for blondes. She admitted they often seem like the type to cause heartbreak, but she hoped they wouldn’t.
Robyn Langton vs Helena FordĀ
Not long after Helena Ford exited the Love Island: All Stars villa, rumors started circulating that she was returning for another season.
I have to say, I was completely blown away when Robyn Langton walked on stage! She’s a total look-alike for Helena ā seriously, with her fit build and all that gorgeous blonde hair, it’s uncanny. She really captures the same energy!
Robyn has revealed her strategy for finding love on the show, saying: ‘I like to observe first.Ā
I’m not someone who falls for people instantly, but I really need to get a feel for who they are. I pay attention to their personality, how they act, and especially how they treat others. That’s what really draws me in.
I don’t fall for just anyone; I need a real connection with someone I truly like. And honestly, I know my worth ā a potential partner has to be exceptional and meet all my criteria before I’d consider a relationship.
Lorenzo Alessi vs Nathan MasseyĀ
Despite being labeled the ‘European hunk’ this season, Lorenzo Alessi actually shares quite a bit in common with Nathan Massey, known for his playful personality from Essex.
Lorenzo is likely hoping to follow in Nathanās footsteps, as Nathan won the second season of the show, married his partner Cara De La Hoyde, and they now have two children.
When asked about his ideal type, Lorenzo said he’s traditionally attracted to blondes, though not exclusively. He also mentioned he’s drawn to sophisticated women.
I have a strange personal preference ā I’m really drawn to women with toned arms and slender necks, like Jessica Alba or Angelina Jolie. It’s definitely a specific thing, I realize that!
Samraj Toor vs Davide Sanclimenti
Like Davide Sanclimenti from season eight, professional model Samraj Toor is no stranger to getting attention.
Davide quickly became popular with viewers after winning his season of the show with Ekin-Su CülcüloÄlu, but they eventually broke up despite their initial success.
Samraj isn’t concerned about making an effort to meet girls. He explained that he’s generally used to women taking the initiative, and doesn’t feel the need to actively pursue them.
Things are different inside the Villa, so Iām not going to rush into anything. Iāll spend some time getting to know everyone and figuring out who I connect with before making any moves.
Ope Sowande vs Aaron FrancisĀ
Ope Sowande and Aaron Francis share a resemblance, but Ope likely hopes their experiences on Love Island will be quite different.
Aaron was a contestant on season seven of the show and dated five different women before being eliminated.
Ope explained how he’ll handle other guys vying for the same girl in the villa, saying he doesn’t get intimidated easily. He’s very sure of himself and plans to just be himself.
I’m not easily bothered, scared, or made to feel insecure. It’s more about my own self-assurance than anything else. I really like who I am ā I feel good about my appearance and my sense of humour.
Mica Harris vs ShakiraĀ Khan
People are noticing a striking resemblance between Mica Harris and last year’s finalist, Shakira Khan, suggesting history may be repeating itself.
Shakira’s relationship with Harry Cooksley is a heartwarming story, especially since they’ve recently taken the step of moving in together.
Mica, who recently moved to England from Barbados, is starting to date and knows exactly what qualities she’s looking for ā and what she’s not ā in a partner.
She explained sheās not attracted to arrogant or self-absorbed men ā thatās just not her style. She wants someone who is completely focused on her and genuinely interested in her, not just themselves. Basically, she wants someone head-over-heels for her.
Lola Deal vs Emily Moran
Lola Deal is a detective who works outside the island, and she might be able to figure out why all the Islanders seem to look the same!
As for herself, she bears a resemblance to Emily Moran, who appeared on the show last year.Ā Ā
Lola described her ideal type as tall and with Italian features. She usually prefers guys with dark hair, although she often ends up dating blondes! She also likes light-colored eyes, but isnāt too strict about it.
I’m really drawn to people with a good sense of humor ā I think it makes a big difference. I also appreciate someone who’s intelligent and can share their knowledge with me.
Sean Fitz vs Charlie Frederik
Sean Fitz looks a bit like Charlie Frederick, but heās probably hoping for a more enjoyable time in the villa.
Charlie first appeared on Love Island during season three, but he was eliminated after failing to couple up. He recently returned for the All Stars edition, only to be rejected and sent home by Millie Court.
The man isn’t afraid to cause a stir, stating he’ll pursue anyone he’s attracted to, no matter what stands in his way.
As for his turn offs, Sean shared: ‘Cockiness and a dry personality I canāt stand.’Ā Ā
Sam Workman vs Curtis PritchardĀ
Sam Workman is probably hoping to have more success on the show than Curtis Pritchard, who has been on it three times already.
Curtis initially searched for a partner during season five of the show. He then appeared on Love Island Games and later returned for Love Island: All Stars.
Sam described his ideal partner as someone classy, mature, and fun, with blonde hair. He’s attracted to people who are easygoing and don’t take life too seriously ā someone who can relax and have a good time.
He shared that he’s ready to find a serious relationship. While he’s enjoyed being single and dating recently, he’s now looking for a lifelong partner.
Angelista vsĀ Leanne AmaningĀ
Angelista is often compared to Leanne Amaning from season six, but she’s likely hoping for a less dramatic experience on the show.
Leanne briefly appeared on season six of Love Island and then returned for Love Island: All Stars. Her complicated relationship with Scott van-der-Sluis created drama during the show.
Angelista explained her approach to relationships, saying that being too reserved or passive will likely lead to someone else attracting your partner, which is a painful experience to witness.
‘You have to read the room with the guy as well, to see if heās feeling the same.’
Jasmine Müller vs Sanam Harrinanan
If Jasmine Müller’s experience on the show is similar to Sanam Harrinanan’s, she’s likely to succeed.
Sanam achieved a first for the show in season nine, becoming the first contestant introduced through Casa Amor to win, alongside Kai Fagan.
Okay, so Jasmine was talking about the kinds of guys she doesn’t want, and honestly, it’s so refreshing! She said insecure men are a total no-go, and I totally get it! She was like, ‘How could he handle me?’ and it’s brilliant! Like, she’s amazing, and a guy needs to be confident enough to just let her shine, you know? It’s not about needing to be ‘handled’ at all! She deserves someone strong, and that question just proves it. I’m obsessed with how self-aware she is!
I tend to avoid men who seem insecure. I can usually sense it quickly, and I worry things would quickly fall apart, likely ending with him resenting me.
Aidan Murphy vs Mitch TaylorĀ
Aidan Murphy resembles Mitch Taylor, but it’s still unclear if he’ll generate the same amount of debate.
Mitch gained the nickname ‘Messy Mitch’ due to the drama he created on season 10 of the show, and he lived up to the name when he returned for All Stars.
Aidan says his main goal is to find love, but he admits he doesn’t mind a little drama along the way.
I likely wouldn’t take a leading role, but I’d certainly pay attention and observe what’s happening ā and perhaps playfully contribute to the discussion.
Love Island returns Monday, June 1 at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
