Harper Beckham appeared to borrow clothes from her mother Victoria’s closet while enjoying a fancy lunch with her family during their vacation in Formentera.
The 14-year-old wore a cream-colored satin dress borrowed from her mother as she walked to the Es Moli de Sal restaurant after leaving her parents’ yacht.
The outfit closely resembled the silk designs Victoria has showcased, and Harper completed the look with a Bottega Veneta clutch worth £2,200.
Harper beamed, proudly displaying her braces, and was accompanied by her brother Romeo, 23, his girlfriend Kim Turnbull, 24, and her parents, Victoria, 52, and David, 51.
I always notice the little things, and it was so sweet to see David helping Victoria with her heels! She’s stunning, but those stilettos looked a bit tricky on the yacht’s deck, just like I’ve seen with Lauren Sanchez. He was a total gentleman offering her a hand as they left – a really cute moment!
David and Victoria Beckham started their school holiday this week with a trip to Ibiza, bringing along their luxurious £16 million yacht.
Victoria, who previously received a £30 million loan from her husband’s business, recently announced she might be willing to sell her fashion brand.
The eponymous brand, founded in 2008, was reported to have debts of £53.9million in 2022.
Despite a strong year with sales reaching £112.7 million, Victoria Beckham hasn’t ruled out the possibility of selling her business in the future.
Speaking to the Financial Times, Victoria was asked: ‘Would you ever sell your business?’
She stated she doesn’t rule anything out and is always open to new possibilities. Right now, her focus is on growth, but she remains flexible and doesn’t dismiss anything for the future.
Victoria shared some exciting news: after seeing strong interest in her London store, she’s planning to expand with new locations in New York and Miami.
Until I open physical stores in New York and Miami, I’ve been depending on online sales. But I’m eager to have direct control over the customer experience once they enter a store.
‘The next step is retail expansion and we will see where it goes next. I’m very lucky.
I’m really focused on creating a brand that lasts, and honestly, there’s still so much potential out there – whole areas we haven’t even touched yet! We put in a lot of hard work getting everything stable and solid, and now I’m excited to finally shift gears and really start growing. I want to build something substantial, something that will truly endure.
This summer, Harper plans to release a new line of beauty products designed for younger generations (Gen Z and Gen Alpha). The collection will take inspiration from popular South Korean cosmetics. You can find more details about the launch here.
In October, it became public that the Beckhams had legally registered the name HIKU BY Harper in the UK, suggesting they were planning to launch a beauty product line.
Reports indicate the teenager was disappointed because she wasn’t allowed to trademark her name in the United States, potentially impacting her future plans.
The US Patent and Trademark Office initially rejected the name because it was too similar to those of existing businesses.
According to The Sun, the company explained the mix-up because ‘Harper’ is registered for cleaning supplies like brooms and brushes, while ‘Hiku’ is a trademarked brand for personal care and fragrance items.
The Beckhams filed for a trademark in November and now have six months to challenge the original ruling if they disagree with it.
The company intended to trademark the name for a variety of products, including cosmetics, acne treatment, shoes, clothes, keychains, stickers, hair accessories, and brushes.
The Daily Mail has contacted the Beckhams’ representative for comment.
Victoria recently shared that her daughter Harper’s difficult experience with acne motivated the teen to start her own beauty company.
On Emma Grede’s ‘Aspire’ podcast, Victoria shared that someone came to her a couple of years ago with serious skin problems.
She once had clear skin, but as a teenager, she started using many beauty products that weren’t right for her. This led to significant skin problems, and she eventually had to see a dermatologist.
Victoria shared that she also struggled with acne and understands what her daughter is going through. Harper explained her motivation for starting a brand: ‘I want to create something that helps others avoid the difficulties I’ve faced.’
Victoria Beckham revealed that her daughter once created detailed PowerPoint presentations to pitch her own beauty business idea.
She showed me two PowerPoints: one explained her idea for a skincare brand she was developing because she had skin problems, and the other was a persuasive argument for why I should let her get a perm.
Victoria shared that she’s incredibly proud of all her children, but noted Harper is particularly driven and well-behaved. She admitted she wasn’t entirely sure what she had anticipated Harper achieving, though.
She’s practically grown up attending my work meetings about beauty products, always sitting on my lap.
The Beckhams have always been careful to protect their children’s names as trademarks. For example, Victoria Beckham registered Harper’s name for use on products like makeup, toys, and clothes when Harper was only five years old.
An intellectual property lawyer noted that trademarking a child’s name was highly unusual, as this practice is typically only used for established celebrities.
Oliver Bray, a lawyer with the firm RPC, explained to the Daily Mail that people often seek legal protection for their work early in their careers, usually when a colleague suggests it.
‘As opposed to the future-proofing which is what Victoria Beckham has done with her children.
This could reflect current trends, particularly how social media impacts and often exploits celebrities.
Trademarks offer a way to protect your public image, and it’s possible that figures like the Beckhams are increasingly using them to shield their children from exploitation in today’s media landscape.
‘But from another point of view, you could call it savvy and looking to the future.’
