Pokémon GO Forever Forward Season 23 overview

Pokémon GO Fest 2026

As we shared in April, Pokémon GO Fest 2026 will be the highlight of the season! This year’s event, happening July 11th and 12th, 2026, will focus on Mewtwo and Zeraora, and will also bring Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y to Pokémon GO for the first time.

The event will be free for all Pokémon GO players who participate during the event weekend, offering exclusive research tasks, extra rewards, and increased chances of finding Shiny Pokémon. In addition to the online event, live GO Fest events will be held in Tokyo, Chicago, and Copenhagen.

Mega Evolutions and Dynamax Pokémon arrivals

As a Pokémon GO fan, I’m really excited about all the new Mega Evolution stuff coming this season! Niantic is planning more Mega Raid Days, and while they haven’t told us exactly which Pokémon will be featured yet, we’re definitely getting more Mega Debuts throughout the ‘Forever Forward’ season. It’s awesome!

This season, Electabuzz, Magikarp, and Feebas are becoming available in Dynamax Battles! You’ll be able to find them at Power Spots during special events. Plus, Max Mondays are back, meaning even more Power Spots and a new selection of Dynamax Pokémon each week.

GO Pass rewards and progression updates

The GO Pass is back this season! You can advance by completing Pass Tasks, earning GO Points, and unlocking rewards. For even more rewards and quicker progress, you can purchase the GO Pass Deluxe version.

During special times of the year, you’ll get extra rewards like more Candy when trading Pokémon, bigger Gift storage, longer-lasting Daily Adventure Incense, and more XP and Stardust when you hatch Eggs.

Get ready for a brand-new season in Pokémon GO called Forever Forward! 🎉 From June 2nd to September 8th, 2026, you can look forward to the arrival of new Pokémon, exciting live events, and lots more!

Daily Discoveries and Community Days refreshed

Okay, so the update changed up Daily Discoveries. Instead of Double-Time Sunday, we now have Scenic Sunday, and it’s way better for exploring Routes! Basically, you’ll find more Pokémon and get cool bonuses just by running around. It’s all about maximizing your Route adventures now, which I’m totally here for.

As a Pokémon GO player, I’m really excited about the updates! Showcase Tuesdays are getting a nice boost – now we can submit up to five PokéStops! And mark your calendars for Community Days: June 20th, July 4th, and August 16th. This season’s Research Breakthroughs are awesome too, with chances to encounter Pokémon like Dragonite, Axew, Honedge, Jangmo-o, Indeedee, and Klawf. Plus, they’re switching up which Pokémon you can hatch from Eggs, so there’s even more to look forward to!
