Star Wars Star Pushes for Polarizing Disney+ Series to Finally Continue

As a huge Star Wars fan, I was so excited when The Mandalorian landed on Disney+ back in 2019. Since then, they’ve added a bunch more Star Wars shows, though not all of them got a second chance. But if you ask Ming-Na Wen, it’s definitely time for one particular show to pick things up again and continue the story!

I was really captivated by The Book of Boba Fett when it came out with its seven episodes back in early 2022, and I’ve been hoping for more ever since! Recently, I heard Ming-Na Wen, who plays the amazing Fennec Shand, talking about the possibility of continuing the story on Katee Sackhoff’s show, The Sackhoff Show. Katee, who I also love as Bo-Katan Kryze, mentioned how many fans, like me, are eager to see more of Fennec, perhaps even in a second season. Ming-Na totally agreed, and it sounds like she thinks there’s a lot more to explore with her character, which is fantastic news!

Ming-Na Wen Calls for The Book of Boba Fett Season 2

I really believe the show should get a second season. Both the fans, Tem Morrison, and I think there are still a lot of stories to tell with The Book of Boba Fett. It feels unfinished, and there’s definitely more potential there, so I’m hoping it happens.

Sackhoff expressed interest in returning for a possible second season, saying, “Hopefully, my character could appear in The Book of Boba Fett.”

“Or, you have your spinoff, and Fennec has her spinoff. Everybody gets one,” Wen responded.

While not as heavily criticized as some other recent Star Wars shows like The Acolyte, The Book of Boba Fett still divided viewers. It has a 66% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, but only a 48% audience score. Despite this mixed reception, fans who liked the show were very enthusiastic, and many are hoping for a second season.

For four years, there hadn’t been any progress, so it seemed less and less likely. However, there’s still some hope! The show is continuing to gain popularity, recently reaching the Top 10 on Disney+. It’s possible fans were rewatching in anticipation of the new Mandalorian story coming to theaters this month.

The Franchise Has Since Returned to the Big Screen

Created by Jon Favreau, The Book of Boba Fett is a spin-off series from The Mandalorian. It focuses on Boba Fett, played by Temuera Morrison, and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen), though Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) also appears. The story follows Boba Fett’s attempt to take control of Jabba the Hutt’s criminal organization on Tatooine, picking up after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

The popular series is back in cinemas after continuing its story on Disney+. The Mandalorian and Grogu, directed by Jon Favreau, premiered on May 22nd, marking the first Star Wars film released in theaters since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. The characters Boba Fett and Fennec Shand appeared in the series, but it’s currently unknown if they will return in future Star Wars projects.
