Hypebeast Flea & Hypedrive Take Over Taikoo Li Julong Wan Guangzhou

Throughout May, TopMob hosted two popular events, TopMob Flea and the new Hypedrive, at Taikoo Li Julong Wan in Guangzhou. For almost a month, the historic Chongkou Warehouse district came alive with community events, becoming a central spot where people connected over shared passions like vintage streetwear, classic cars, and vinyl records.

We kicked off the event with a special opening party to celebrate our community and friends, including swimmer Sun Yang and artist Xiao Pi Hai. Hong Kong DJ Frankie Lam got everyone moving with a fantastic set of classic Cantopop. Artist Katol created live artwork throughout the night, and guests enjoyed interactive workshops hosted by ROARINGWILD and Birth of Royal Child, letting them get creative and make things themselves.

TopMob Flea Guangzhou: An Immersive Market

The heart of the event was the vibrant fashion scene from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). Popular brands like THE ARTISTE, Club Stubborn, OLDSOILISM, WMT Chrono club, LIVIN’ MACAU, ROARINGWILD, Spanner Hardware®, and Vangolf presented their newest collections and limited-edition items, highlighting the unique style of GBA fashion. Attendees also enjoyed a vintage shopping experience with Hong Kong’s well-known Midwest Vintage and WHITE WHALE & CO., searching for rare and collectible pieces.

The event also featured a strong international presence, with popular brands like FUTUREMADE STUDIO, MADFRENZY, Netflix, GENTLEWOMAN, MATTER MAKERS, adidas, and Birth of Royal Child attracting large crowds. The lifestyle and art-toy areas were particularly diverse, showcasing curated collections from New Era, Artdicted, LeeeeeToy, FAT COFFEE WITH, Raw Emotions, HAMCUS, Plastic Friends, and Well Done Shop.

The event featured more than just typical vendor booths. A large, immersive installation called “Lost in Apple” by Green House Café quickly became the most popular spot for photos. A display of limited-edition T-shirts celebrating TopMob’s 20th anniversary also drew a lot of attention. Attendees stayed energized thanks to a fantastic selection of food and drinks from vendors like TREBLE COFFEE, White Soup Shop, Hope & Sesame, WONDERYELL, FULUKU RAMEN, and Hennessy.

Throughout the market, there were constant interactive activities. Several panel discussions brought together influential figures like Xiao Pi Hai, Jackal, Tuff, Anson, Kenkori, Jim Yan, and John, who discussed strategies for growth and building strong communities. The event emphasized creativity, with New Era collaborating with ROARINGWILD and Xiao Pi Hai for hands-on DIY workshops. This spirit of making continued with sessions led by ROARINGWILD and Well Done Shop. The music lineup featured Larvae and Replica.mp3, following an opening performance by Frankie Lam, and they kept the energy high with great DJ sets each night.

The event moved outdoors with a lively run along the river, led by The Block Smash, adidas, and Pumpplus. SHINING energized the crowd with a bike-building competition, and lululemon offered a peaceful yoga session as the sun set. Vangolf’s mini golf challenge added to the fun, with the winner to be announced at a future event.

Hypedrive Guangzhou: Automotive Aesthetics Meet Vinyl Culture

With the end of the week-long TopMob Flea market, a fresh event called Hypedrive took over. Starting May 16th and continuing for two weekends, Hypedrive – a new experience originally from New York – transformed the space from a streetwear market into a showcase of unique mechanical designs and vinyl records, all within the same iconic brick buildings.

The event, built around the themes of classic cars and vinyl records, offered a thrilling weekend experience for car and music lovers throughout the Greater Bay Area. It combined the excitement of speed, the energy of live music, and the authentic culture of car enthusiasts.

The event transformed street culture into a hands-on experience amidst the city’s famous buildings. RDM PSYCHO showcased impressive custom Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and Open Dialogue collaborated with Tyson Yoshi’s TRIPLET to launch a limited-edition “Racing Club” t-shirt. Inozetek demonstrated cutting-edge color-changing car wraps, and CAMMUS offered racing fans a realistic track experience with professional simulators.

The energy at the event was just incredible and kept building! HAMCUS had these amazing art toys and a custom claw machine that everyone was checking out – they were total highlights. And COSTS really brought their unique retail vibe with a super textured space. It was cool seeing the Purist Group there too, bringing that sense of community and their charitable work. Hong Kong’s Raw Emotions created this awesome space called RAWEMOCASA – it was such a cool mix of beautiful flowers and gritty engines, like a traditional garage market but totally reimagined. Plus, the music was perfect! ANTH and DISC JOKER teamed up and built this vinyl haven using the founder Trace’s personal collection, giving off the best youth culture vibes with all that warm, analog sound.

It’s no surprise that everyone was drawn to the incredible collection of eight legendary cars on display. Highlights included a beautiful white Toyota Supra A80, a tribute to Paul Walker; a Nissan GT-R R35 covered in autographs from famous drivers; and a very rare Nissan Z showcased in Guangzhou. Also featured was the stunning pairing of the Porsche 918 Spyder and McLaren P1 – two of the most iconic modern hypercars – both boasting exposed carbon fiber and incredibly powerful V8 engines that delivered a thrilling experience.

Several vehicles really stood out at the event. These included a unique avocado green GT-R R35 Nismo created through a collaboration between Hana, TBC, and Inozetek, a classic Lamborghini Diablo GT with a custom black-and-white wrap, and a vintage Volkswagen Santana that artist whyyy transformed with a live ink-wash graffiti painting.

The event wasn’t just visually exciting; it also included discussions led by members of the community throughout its four days. The first day featured a panel with CCHAN, Catherine, and Ya Bao, who talked about the nostalgic appeal of things like mechanical gears and vinyl records. Throughout the weekend, attendees could also participate in hands-on activities like making personalized leather keychains at the RDM workshop or learning to DJ with ANTH and DISC JOKER.

As the sun set, the Pearl River waterfront came alive with the sounds of kendama players and a fun football event organized by FOOTYGIRLS. When night arrived, DJ ANTH’s exclusive set transformed the historic red-brick warehouses into a vibrant space, with energetic UK Garage, Phonk, and Techno beats perfectly complementing the impressive display of luxury hypercars.
