Paramount+ has revealed that the second season of its spy thriller, The Agency, which is set in London, will premiere on June 21st. Along with the premiere date, they’ve also released a new trailer and some first-look photos. All ten episodes of the season will be available at once, so viewers can watch the entire season as a binge.
Inspired by the French series Le Bureau des Légendes, the show stars Michael Fassbender as Brandon Colby, known as ‘Martian’, a secret CIA operative. He’s called back to London headquarters from an undercover assignment, only to be surprised by the return of a former love.
Michael Fassbender is joined by a talented cast including Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, Katherine Waterston, and Richard Gere. Dominic West and Hugh Bonneville make guest appearances.

In season two, CIA agent Martian is reeling from betrayal and struggling with past failures. When a mole is discovered within London Station, everything falls apart. As trust erodes, the truth itself becomes dangerous, and Martian finds himself drawn further into the conflict as he tries to uncover the truth.
The trailer begins with a voiceover from Michael Fassbender’s character, who admits to being a traitor. He confesses to betraying his country, causing harm, lying to those he knew, and making sacrifices that led to negative consequences, ultimately accepting his punishment.
What to Read Next
The latest trailer is packed with action, including intense gunfights, kidnappings, and high-speed car chases. There’s even a brief, disturbing scene that suggests someone is being tortured. Based on the preview, season two promises to be incredibly suspenseful.
Critics had a generally positive, though somewhat mixed, reaction to the first season, giving it a 66% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 41 reviews.

Both Newsday and Variety praised the show. Newsday called it a “good, smart, and fast-paced spy thriller,” and Variety found it “deeply engrossing.”
According to The Age, the show’s deliberate pace and complex plot are fitting, suggesting the creators have a clear vision for the current season and beyond.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Michael Fassbender is captivating to watch, even in mundane scenes – they said they could watch him simply going about his day. However, the review also noted that The Agency doesn’t fully explore the core psychological condition it portrays and relies too much on typical thriller tropes.
Season 2 of The Agency is released on Paramount+ on 21 June.
