The game received some exciting updates in its first weekend patch. Players can now enjoy a 5v5 mode and a brand new base in Highguard.
Highguard received a solid update just after launch. The update includes a new 5v5 game mode, a brand new base, and improvements to the game’s performance.
5v5 Raids in Highguard: A time-limited playlist
The developers have stated clearly that the new 5v5 mode isn’t meant to replace the core 3v3 Raids.
The formula is quite straightforward.
- The online lobby in Highguard allows 5-player teams.
- The number of lives has been increased for 5v5: 10 instead of 6.
- Respawns have been made longer.
We’re continually working to improve the game’s performance, and this update includes many optimizations – especially for 3v3 mode! Just remember that adding more players (like in the new 5v5 mode) won’t automatically make things run faster, so please keep that in mind as you test it out.
Highguard developers
For a limited time, you can try 5v5 Raids in Highguard! It’s a unique and enjoyable experience, and if enough players enjoy it, it might become a regular game mode.
Soul Well in Highguard: Welcome to a new base
The latest Highguard update introduces a new base described as a haunting reminder of a forgotten era. You can see what the Soul Well looks like in the video linked below.
The Soul Well Highguard base is now available in all game modes. Unlike the temporary 5v5 Raids, this base is a permanent addition to the game.
Optimization and quality of life
The latest update focuses on improving how well the game runs in Highguard. These technical changes are designed to boost performance, and the developers have highlighted a few specific areas that have been optimized.
- Projectiles
- Animation performance
- Draw submission times
We should just delve into the game and see if we can feel these improvements.
As for the quality-of-life features, Highguard got additional visual settings.
- Motion blur.
- Anisotropic materials toggle — for consoles, as the PC version already has it.
Highguard is a brand new game, and we anticipate a lot more content being added soon. Expect things like new game types, bases, and weapons to keep the fast-paced shooting action in Raids engaging.
