Joe Rogan recently revealed he chose not to submit his podcast for consideration for a Golden Globe award because he didn’t want to pay the required entry fee.
The awards show included a new category for best podcast this year, but surprisingly didn’t recognize hugely popular podcasts hosted by figures like Joe Rogan, Tucker Carlson, and Megyn Kelly.
Ugh, the Emmys? Seriously? It was SO predictable. They nominated the usual suspects – you know, the Hollywood crowd who always play it safe. Dax Shepard, Jason Bateman, Will Arnett… even Alex Cooper! It’s like they’re afraid to take any risks! And honestly, Amy Poehler winning? Don’t get me wrong, she’s fine, but it was just… expected. I was hoping for someone actually different, someone who pushes boundaries, but no. Just the same old politically correct choices. It’s frustrating!
The decision to exclude people known for opposing ‘woke’ culture, like Joe Rogan, caused a lot of disagreement. Now, Rogan has complicated the situation further.
During a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan explained why he wasn’t nominated for a Golden Globe and why Amy Poehler won. He simply stated that he didn’t submit his work for consideration.
He explained that the Golden Globes asked him to consider a nomination, but it required a $500 fee – supposedly for processing paperwork. He decided not to participate.
It doesn’t matter what you say – I’ve already won. After being at the top for six years straight, I won’t accept being told I lost, especially not in a public competition like this. It just doesn’t make sense.
