Boy George and Culture Club could deliver a nostalgic winter surprise

If you’re a fan of 80s New Wave music, especially Boy George and Culture Club, a trip to the UK in December could be perfect. They’re touring, and it’s a chance to see them live – if you’re willing to cover the cost of travel.

Plus, you can see some other great British bands from the 80s perform alongside them! The band is touring nine cities with special guests ABC and Haircut 100, starting December 7th in Bournemouth – a city known for its football club that recently upset Manchester City – and wrapping up at London’s O2 Arena on December 19th.

Treat yourself – and a friend, if you like – to an early holiday gift! You really can’t beat that. And this tour, called “The Singles,” promises to be packed with all their most popular songs.

Boy George and Culture Club should supply the entertainment for your destination vacation in December

Tickets become available to everyone on Friday, May 29th at 9:30 am British Summer Time. If you’re in New York City, that means you’ll need to start trying to buy them at 4:30 am Eastern Time. You can find more details on Culture Club’s website.

I’m so excited, Culture Club is coming to North America in September! I just saw they’re playing in Puyallup, Washington on the 4th, then heading to Costa Mesa, California on the 6th, and wrapping things up in Vancouver, British Columbia on the 7th. Definitely trying to snag tickets!

However, Boy George won’t be joined by ABC or Haircut 100 on his tour dates. Seeing those bands, along with Culture Club, is a great reason to visit the UK, if you’re able to afford the trip.

Culture Club has achieved significant success in both the US and UK, with one album and six singles reaching the top 10 in the US, and four albums and nine singles doing the same in the UK. Their latest album, Life, came out in 2018.

ABC has released nine studio albums, most recently The Lexicon of Love II in 2016. Their first album, The Lexicon of Love, came out in 1982 and is still considered a hidden gem from the New Wave period.

Haircut 100 put out just two studio albums, with their final one released in 1984. Despite their short recording career, they had four songs reach the top 10 in the UK charts between 1981 and 1982.
