Season 6 of the popular comedy series Only Murders in the Building is now filming, and the cast is beginning to share pictures from the set, which appears to be located in Europe.
Steve Martin, a star of the show Only Murders in the Building, shared a photo on Instagram celebrating the start of filming in London. He posed with his co-stars Martin Short, Selena Gomez, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and wrote, “OMITB is now filming in London! It’s wonderful to be here and walk along the Seine.”
Martin recently began posting pictures from a location he playfully referred to as a secret spot. However, his Instagram followers quickly figured out he was in London filming season 6 of Only Murders in the Building. He even posted a selfie with UK-themed merchandise, clearly showing where he was, despite continuing to joke about being off the grid and his location being a mystery.
Martin isn’t the only one hinting at their whereabouts online. Gomez also shared a photo on Instagram showing famous London landmarks like the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Bridge, and the River Thames. She captioned it “I adore London” along with a crying-with-tears-of-joy emoji and the UK flag.
A new comedy series from Hulu, hinted at during the season 5 finale of Only Murders in the Building, centers around a podcast hosted by Tina Fey’s character, Cinda Canning. The podcast focuses on a woman accused of killing someone connected to royalty, and Cinda suggests she flee to the United States for safety. Later, Mabel, Oliver, and Charles are shocked to discover Cinda’s body near their building, The Arconia.
The show Only Murders in the Building began in 2021 and follows three main characters who start a podcast investigating murders happening right in their apartment building.
In addition to Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, the show has boasted a remarkable cast over the years, including Cara Delevingne, Paul Rudd, Meryl Streep, Zach Galifianakis, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Nathan Lane, Michael Rapaport, Jane Lynch, Molly Shannon, Kumail Nanjiani, Téa Leoni, Bobby Cannavale, Keegan-Michael Key, Beanie Feldstein, and Renée Zellweger.
From the start, Only Murders in the Building has received numerous award nominations. It won the Emmy for Best Musical or Comedy Series, with Selena Gomez also winning an Emmy for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Series. At the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Martin Short was recognized for his performance in a comedy series, and the entire cast won for their ensemble work.
Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building is a huge hit, consistently ranking as the platform’s most popular comedy and earning numerous awards. Critics love it too – the first season received a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and the following seasons have been almost as impressive, with scores of 98% and 97% for seasons 2 and 3. Overall, the show maintains an outstanding average score of 95% across its first five seasons.
Although we don’t have an exact date yet, the sixth season of Only Murders in the Building will probably come out in late summer or early fall, following the pattern of previous seasons.
