Alright, so I’m diving into a guide for 8-Bit in Brawl Stars. I’ll break down everything about him – how his attacks work, his stats, and what he’s capable of. My goal is to figure out the best way to build him out to really maximize his potential. He’s a bit slow, but trust me, his attacks hit hard and he’s amazing at boosting his teammates. Let’s get right into it and check out 8-Bit!
Brawl Stars 8-Bit Guide – How To Unlock
To unlock 8-Bit in Brawl Stars, players can:
- Unlock him on Trophy Road
- Unlock him from a Mega Box (0.5% chance)
- *Players may also unlock 8-Bit from rarer Drops like Sushi Rolls or Angelic/Demonic Drops
You’ll probably get 8-Bit by playing Trophy Road, but it will take some effort. Earning enough trophies to unlock him might take a while, and you may need to use a variety of different characters to increase your trophy count.
Brawl Stars 8-Bit Guide – Attacks & Stats Per Level
8-Bit’s primary attack, Blaster Beams, lets him fire six laser beams from a distance. While the beams spread out a little, hitting with all of them can deal significant damage, though it takes a moment to execute the full attack.
8-Bit’s Super, the Damage Booster, places a turret that increases the damage dealt by all nearby brawlers. This boost doesn’t work on other turrets that are summoned, or on pets like Bruce or Jessie’s turret, but it can offer good protection when you’re taking fire from opponents.
Okay, so in 8-Bit Hordes, the Aimbot upgrade is seriously cool. It gives my turret a laser beam that can blast enemies from way across the map. It’s a huge help for taking out threats before they even get close!
Here’s a look at 8-Bit’s stats (as of May 2026). Please keep in mind that these numbers are subject to change and may not be completely current.

Brawl Stars 8-Bit Guide – Which Star Powers & Gadgets are the best?
Overall, 8-Bit has two gadgets:
- Cheat Cartridge – “8-Bit instantly teleports to his Damage Booster.”
- Extra Credits – “8-Bit’s next attack has the number of projectiles increased to 18.”
Additionally, 8-Bit has two Star Powers:
- Boosted Booster – “Increases the Damage Booster’s range and boosts damage.”
- Plugged In – “When 8-Bit is near his Damage Booster, he will plug in and have increased movement speed.”
Furthermore, 8-Bit can use the following gears in battle:
- Speed
- Vision
- Health
- Shield
- Damage
- Gadget Cooldown
Brawl Stars 8-Bit Guide – Recommended Star Power, Gadget, & Gear Setup
We suggest using Cheat Cartridge for most game modes with Gadgets, as it helps this slower character move around more quickly. If you prefer Heist mode, though, Extra Credits can be really useful for dealing extra damage to the safe. Both are good choices, but Cheat Cartridge lets you make some clever plays.
Okay, so as a big 8-Bit fan, let me tell you about Star Powers. If you’re playing team modes with friends, definitely go with Boosted Booster – it helps the whole team, and that’s awesome! But if you’re going solo in Showdown or Duels, Plugged In is the way to go. It gives 8-Bit a serious speed boost, which is super helpful when you’re on your own.
Okay, so for Gears, I really like stacking Damage Gear on him – it just makes sense, since he’s all about dealing damage! I also think either a Shield or a Gadget Cooldown Gear works great. He’s pretty tanky already with his high HP, but a shield makes him even harder to kill. Or, if I want to be super aggressive, I’ll go with a Gadget Cooldown Gear so I can spam moves like Cheat Cartridge way more often. It really lets you control the battlefield!
Brawl Stars – Which Modes Should You Use 8-Bit In (And Which Modes You Shouldn’t)
Bounty/Knockout/Wipeout
8-Bit’s powerful long-range attacks make him a good pick for most game modes. He’s a bit slow though, so avoid overly aggressive play to prevent being overwhelmed. Using Cheat Cartridge can help improve his movement and make him more agile.
Hot Zone
8-Bit can help his team by boosting their abilities and protecting them from attacks. Using ‘Boosted Booster’ makes the team even stronger, while ‘Plugged In’ makes 8-Bit more durable.
Heist
I’ve been having a lot of fun playing as 8-Bit in Heist with Extra Credits! He’s not the most obvious choice, but I think he’s a surprisingly good pick for dealing big damage to the safe. He’s a bit of a hidden gem, honestly, and his tools can really make a difference.
Brawl Stars 8-Bit Guide – What Mode(s) Should I NOT Use 8-Bit In?
Brawl Ball
8-Bit is often held back by his slow speed. He has trouble keeping up with quick brawlers such as Bibi and Primo, and he lacks any abilities to control enemies by stunning, slowing, or pushing them back. Thankfully, his turret can provide some defense against incoming attacks.
Solo Showdown
8-Bit is fast at destroying boxes, but he has trouble fighting agile opponents like Edgar and Mortis. He performs slightly better in Duo Showdown thanks to his Super ability, which can support both him and his partner. However, we generally don’t recommend using him in any version of that mode.
Overall, that wraps up our Brawl Stars 8-Bit Guide!
