This guide will cover everything you need to know about Tick in Brawl Stars, including his attacks, stats, and abilities, and help you create his best build. Tick is a long-range fighter known for creating chaos in game modes like Bounty. Let’s dive right in and take a closer look at Tick!
Brawl Stars Tick Guide – How To Unlock
To unlock Tick in Brawl Stars, players can:
- Unlock him on Trophy Road
- Unlock him from a Mega Box (0.5% chance)
- *Players may also unlock Tick from rarer Drops like Sushi Rolls or Angelic/Demonic Drops
You’ll probably get Tick by progressing on the Trophy Road, but it will take some effort. Earning enough trophies might take a while, and you may need to play with multiple Brawlers to increase your trophy count.
Brawl Stars Tick Guide – Attacks & Stats Per Level
Tick’s primary attack, called Minimines, lets him launch three mines that arc through the air and cover a small area. These mines detonate when they hit an enemy, or after a short time if they don’t. The distance Tick shoots the mines affects how widely they spread – they cover a smaller area when fired at close range, and a larger area when fired from farther away.
Tick’s special ability, Headfirst, allows him to launch his head a short distance. The head flies towards the nearest enemy and explodes when it hits, dealing damage. However, enemies can destroy the head before it reaches them, preventing the explosion. If there are no enemies nearby, the head will follow Tick instead.
With Headstrong, Tick’s Hypercharge makes his head launch forward more quickly. Plus, when Tick explodes – either by hitting an enemy or being destroyed – he leaves behind six mines. These mines hurt enemies and also help recharge Tick’s Super ability.
Here’s a look at Tick’s current stats (as of May 2026). Please keep in mind that these numbers are subject to change and may not be completely up-to-date.

Brawl Stars Tick Guide – Which Star Powers & Gadgets are the best?
Overall, Tick has two gadgets:
- Mine Mania – “Tick’s next attack fires 6 mines.”
- Last Hurrah – “Tick gains a shield for a brief moment. After that, it bursts out and deals damage.”
Additionally, Tick has two Star Powers:
- Well Oiled – “When Tick takes no damage and doesn’t attack, he starts recovering health faster than normal.”
- Automa-Tick Reload – “Tick’s reload time is slightly shorter.”
Furthermore, Tick can use the following gears in battle:
- Speed
- Vision
- Health
- Shield
- Damage
- Gadget Cooldown
- *Thicc Head – Grants Tick’s Head 1000 extra health
*indicates Mythic Gear which will be removed in a future update
Brawl Stars Tick Guide – Recommended Star Power, Gadget, & Gear Setup
We suggest using Last Hurrah for Gadgets because it helps protect Tick. He doesn’t have much health, making it difficult to survive attacks from close-range fighters like Edgar or Mortis. Last Hurrah lets him create some distance and defend himself. Mine Mania, on the other hand, isn’t very effective unless you’re aiming at something that isn’t moving, like a Heist safe.
We suggest using the Well Oiled Star Power. Because Tick has low health, the faster healing can be really helpful. The Automa-Tick Reload Star Power isn’t very impactful, especially if you’re fighting from a distance, as reload speed won’t matter as much.
For Gears, we suggest focusing on defensive equipment like Shield Gear and Health Gear, plus Gear that reduces Gadget cooldown times. The Thicc Head Mythic Gear might not be available for long, so it’s difficult to recommend. For consistent survival, prioritize Gear that keeps him alive.
Brawl Stars – Which Modes Should You Use Tick In (And Which Modes You Shouldn’t)
Bounty/Knockout/Wipeout
Tick is incredibly strong in Bounty, and that’s true for Knockout and Wipeout too. He can attack from a distance, and if anyone gets too close, he has abilities to push them away. Just be careful, as he doesn’t have much health.
Brawl Stars Tick Guide – What Mode(s) Should I NOT Use Tick In?
Heist
Tick isn’t a good pick for Heist because his damage output is too low. Even maximizing his Mine Mania ability won’t let him deal enough damage to be a serious threat. Plus, he’s easily defeated due to his low health, and he’ll have to play aggressively to even reach the safe.
Brawl Ball
Tick isn’t a good pick for Brawl Ball because he’s easily defeated and doesn’t deal much damage. While his Super can destroy walls, his Last Hurrah ability can’t. He also lacks any attacks that can eliminate opponents, stun them, or push them away.
Overall, that wraps up our Brawl Stars Tick Guide!
