A major uplift for Saudi Arabia’s vision to globalize its esports ambition

It wasn’t a surprise when Paris was announced as the host city, as rumors had been circulating for some time. The news was officially confirmed when the President of France announced the event’s upcoming arrival. Paris will also be hosting the 2026 Winter Olympics, promising a grand gathering for athletes from both traditional and modern sports.

This event is being held outside of Saudi Arabia for the very first time. Following the huge success of the first two years, organizers are taking a significant risk, signaling a larger, carefully planned expansion.

Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, announced that Riyadh played a key role in making the Esports World Cup a worldwide success. He also expressed excitement about bringing the event to Paris this year, marking the first time it will be held outside of Saudi Arabia.
