- mo.co’s massive neo revamp officially launches as an update on May 21, 2026.
- Neo update adds seasonal progression, Score Hunt mode, and fully reworked faster combat.
- New weapons, P.E.R.K.S gacha system, and Upgrade Cores are also part of the update.
After building anticipation with teasers, Supercell has officially announced the future of their monster-hunting game, now known as neo mo.co. Although the update wasn’t released on May 19th as some predicted, the full reveal happened that same day, confirming the new era for mo.co will begin on May 21, 2026.
This update is a major overhaul, not just a few small changes. We’re completely rebuilding the game with a focus on seasons, quicker battles, fresh game types, new weapons, deeper customization options, and a fresh start for player progress. Here’s a breakdown of everything you need to know about it.
All you need to know about the mo.co neo update
All changes to old version
The biggest change with this update is a fresh start for everyone. Your Hunter Level will reset to 1 as we switch from Chapters to a seasonal system. This means Elite Hunter Levels, your current gear, completed projects, and previous progression methods will either be removed or updated.
Don’t worry, you’ll still keep your progress! All your cosmetics, in-game currencies, Collector Levels, titles, outfits, emotes, and weapon skins will carry over to the new system. You’ll be able to use your weapon skins again as soon as you unlock the corresponding weapons.
Supercell is rewarding players based on their progress in the previous version of the game. If you were a high-level player before the changes, you’ll get unique cosmetic items like outfits, hats, mounts, and titles, depending on how much experience you earned as an Elite Hunter.
I’m so excited! The game will be getting some updates starting Wednesday, and it’ll take about 24 hours to finish. But the best part is, mo.co’s first official season kicks off on Thursday, May 21st! I can’t wait to jump in.
Weapon Sprints and P.E.R.K.S gacha system
The game now follows a monthly season system centered around ‘Weapon Sprints.’ Think of these sprints as a new way to progress and earn rewards. You’ll gain experience by hunting monsters and collecting Chaos Energy, which levels up your sprint and unlocks goodies. Finishing one Weapon Sprint opens up the next set of weapons to pursue.
As a player, I’m really happy to hear that my favorite weapons from past seasons aren’t going anywhere! They’re being added to this new P.E.R.K.S system, which basically lets me earn them again through a new, kind of lottery-style feature in the game. It’s awesome because I can use it to unlock not just weapons, but also cool outfits, customizations, and other rewards from previous seasons!
This is where seasonal weapons go once their limited-time event is over. You’ll also find Upgrade Cores here, which are modifications for your weapons. These cores come in different strengths – from slightly powered-up to very powerful – and let you customize your weapons with various improvements and benefits, depending on how you want to build them.
Reworked combat and new weapons
Okay, so the combat system is getting a HUGE rework in this update. From what the devs are saying, it’s all about making fights feel quicker, relying more on my actual skill, and just being way more fun to play. I’m really excited to try it out!
One update involves removing the red areas that used to indicate incoming attacks. We’ve also revamped monster animations, which now makes timing your dodges and movement key to success in battles.
The update also introduces several new weapons with different playstyles as listed below.
| Weapon | Type/Category* | Overview |
|---|---|---|
| Speedshot | Bow | Weapon with slows, area damage, and self-healing abilities |
| Head Banger | Melee | Heavy weapon focused on smashing, dashing, shockwaves, and healing spins |
| Vibe Shifter | Hybrid/Support | Weapon with healing, damage attacks, spins, and pet flowers |
| Zapsicle | Electric | Weapon that electrifies enemies and spreads chain damage through dashes |
| Lava Shield | Shield | Lance and shield weapon with taunts, fire damage, blocking, and healing abilities |
| Techno Fists | Flexible | Weapon that switches between bouncing attacks, single-target damage, and healing |
| Venom Bow | P.E.R.K. | Weapon using venom arrows for extra damage, stuns, and healing |
New Mode: Score Hunt
neo mo.co is introducing Score Hunt, a new competitive mode where players earn points by defeating monsters. The goal is to rack up as many points as possible while staying alive through several elimination rounds – keep hitting those score targets to avoid getting knocked out!
Expeditions, Rifts, and Dojos explained
Okay, so this update really ramps up the daily and weekly stuff you can do in the game. Basically, Expeditions are now the main way to grind for rewards. They change every day with new maps and objectives, and you get Chaos Energy from them, which is what you need to progress through the seasonal stuff. It’s a good system, keeps things fresh!
Elite Contracts, known as Rifts, are weekly challenges you can take on. Each Rift has five goals, and finishing them earns you Elite Merits. These Merits improve your Hunter score, help you rank higher on leaderboards, and let you advance along the Elite Hunter Path.
Dojos offer a single-player experience. After you unlock them by improving your weapons, you can fight monsters on your own to earn extra Merits and rewards.
