The next big content update for ARC Raiders is still some time away, but players are happy with the changes included in today’s patch. Following the release of the Riven Tides map last month, the developers at Embark Studios have focused on improving the game. While major updates and new maps will come less often – a change fans actually welcomed – this latest update is being praised.
The latest update for ARC Raiders, version 1.29.0, launched on May 19, 2026, and players are overwhelmingly positive about the improvements. One Reddit user, CPham93, perfectly captured the community’s excitement, exclaiming, “EMBARK IS COOKING WITH THIS UPDATE LETS GOO!” Despite being a relatively small update, it includes significant changes like a new trader and enhanced anti-cheat systems, which have really energized the game’s dedicated fanbase.
Look, cheating has been a real issue in ARC Raiders on PC, and honestly, it was getting frustrating. Update 1.29.0 might not have flashy new features, but the addition of Denuvo Anti-Cheat could be a game-changer. It’s not Denuvo’s usual DRM stuff, thankfully – this is a kernel-level anti-cheat system. The developers already used it in The Finals with good results, so I’m really hoping we’ll see a massive decrease in cheaters in ARC Raiders now. Fingers crossed!
The latest update to ARC Raiders introduces Ermal, a new trader who’s sure to be popular. Players level 25 and up can exchange valuable ARC materials and rare weapons with Ermal for useful rewards. These include more storage space, a vault allowing you to carry up to five items to a new character on expeditions, plus cosmetic items, blueprints, Raider Tokens, and other progression items.
As a big fan of ARC Raiders, I’m really excited about the new trader! It’s a massive change to how the game handles spending, because now you can actually earn the premium stuff – like Raider Tokens and cool cosmetics – just by playing. Plus, needing to trade for those big ARC parts gives me a real reason to keep hunting those tougher machines. It’s not exactly the endgame overhaul we’ve been hoping for, but it’s a great system that gives us veteran players something new to work towards.
Update 1.29.0 is proving popular with players, largely because it fixes issues with game balance. A big improvement is the change to weapon durability – many weapons now last much longer before breaking, with the Renegade seeing a massive 54% increase. Also, to support the growing trend of hunting large ARC creatures, ARC Raiders is getting a new vehicle called the Rascal, which is a smaller version of the Hullcracker.
Investing in Hullcrackers is generally considered risky because they’re costly and vulnerable to enemy Raiders. The team at Embark Studios has also mentioned the challenges of creating new content for ARC Raiders, as it’s hard to predict how well new features will fit with the current game and how players will use them. However, this careful approach means even small tweaks to game balance can have a noticeable effect.
Honestly, if every little update for this game is as good as this one, I think players are going to stay really hyped about where the developers are taking things. I’m especially glad they’re cracking down on cheaters – it’s about time! Plus, the new trader is a cool addition, opening up some fresh ways to get rewards. We’ve still got a ways to go until the next big ARC Raiders update, but these smaller patches are keeping things exciting in the meantime.
