Catherine O’Hara, a celebrated actress famous for her roles in shows like Schitt’s Creek and movies like Home Alone and Best in Show, has passed away at 71.
The Hollywood icon passed away Friday, sources with direct knowledge told TMZ.
The cause of death has not been released.
Daily Mail has requested comment from reps for O’Hara.
September marked O’Hara’s final public outing, at the Emmys, where she seemed quite fragile while walking the red carpet.
Catherine O’Hara is widely recognized for her roles as the mother in the first two Home Alone movies and as the quirky Moira Rose in the popular TV series Schitt’s Creek, where she appeared in all 80 episodes.
She was also brilliantly funny in Christopher Guest’s popular mockumentaries like “Best in Show” (2000) and “A Mighty Wind” (2003).
Fans also remember her unforgettable turns in Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice.
