The Smashing Pumpkins created a legendary pair of albums with Siamese Dream in 1993 and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness in 1995. Though it’s been a little over 30 years since Mellon Collie was released, the band is currently touring to celebrate it.
Billy Corgan’s band is launching a tour called The Rats in a Cage Tour starting September 30th in Columbus, Ohio. They’ll also be performing at Lollapalooza in Chicago on July 31st.
Tickets for the Smashing Pumpkins’ new tour go on sale starting Tuesday, May 19th, at 10 am local time for Citi cardholders and Verizon Access customers. A Live Nation pre-sale follows on Wednesday, May 20th, also at 10 am local time. Tickets will then be available to the general public on Thursday, May 21st, at 10 am local time. Smashing Pumpkins announce 30th anniversary of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness tour
The band has released 13 studio albums, beginning with Gish in 1991 and most recently, Aghori Mhori Mei in 1994. During their upcoming tour, they will perform their album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness from start to finish, and then play a second set featuring songs from throughout their career.
