I was so sad when Bob Saget passed away in 2022. He always made me laugh, whether it was on America’s Funniest Home Videos or in his stand-up. It’s hard to believe it’s been over four years, and today would have been his 70th birthday. Everyone who loved him is definitely thinking about him and remembering all the joy he brought to so many people.
As a huge Full House fan, I was really moved by a post John Stamos shared on Instagram. He and Bob Saget were so close, and John posted this really sweet video of them jamming with friends. It was followed by a bunch of photos of them together over the years – honestly, it was a beautiful look at their friendship. The last photo he shared was labeled ‘last pic’ and showed Bob and John with their wives, standing by the ocean. It just felt… raw and incredibly sad.
Bob Saget’s 70th Birthday Party Would’ve Been “Epic”
The post shared a heartfelt message remembering a loved one, saying they used to celebrate each other’s birthdays with amazing parties. It wished a happy 70th birthday to the person, acknowledging how much they are missed and loved.
I was scrolling through social media and saw John Stamos’ post – it’s already blown up with over 43,000 likes! It’s so sweet; Candace Cameron Bure, who played his TV daughter DJ on Full House, left a comment with a bunch of heart emojis. It’s just amazing to see how many fans are wishing Bob Saget a happy birthday, even after all this time. It really shows how loved and missed he is – a true legend.
Kelly Rizzo, Bob Saget’s wife, also posted a heartfelt message on Instagram. She shared a video of Saget enjoying a past birthday with her and asked fans to join her in celebrating what would have been his 70th birthday. Rizzo reflected on what Saget would be doing if he were still with us, believing he’d still be performing and making people laugh.
Bob Saget Didn’t Believe in Retirement
I was so saddened to hear about Bob. He just wasn’t the type to ever retire – that concept didn’t fit him at all! He was always saying he was ‘just getting started,’ and he truly loved being creative, working, and finding new ways to share his talents. Honestly, I think becoming a grandpa would have meant the world to him, but he was already such an amazing dad, husband, friend, and uncle to so many of us.
You know, it would have been amazing to see him continue to crush it in comedy. He really didn’t want to retire, ever. He was always inspired by his friends – Don Rickles kept doing stand-up well into his 80s, and Norman Lear was still working and making things happen at almost 100 years old! That’s the kind of career he envisioned for himself, just keeping going and doing what he loved.
Cameron Bure also shared a message, wishing a beloved friend a happy 70th birthday in heaven and saying she misses them dearly.
Bob Saget passed away on January 9, 2022, after performing a stand-up show in Florida. Investigators believe he accidentally fell in his hotel room while he was sleeping. Following his death at age 65, many people shared tributes, including a special filmed at The Comedy Store with his close friend John Stamos and others. This tribute, titled Dirty Daddy: The Bob Saget Tribute, became available on Netflix later in 2022.
