I’ve been collecting Trading Card Games (TCGs) for a while now, and it all really kicked off back in ’96 when the first Pokémon cards came out in Japan. It’s amazing how much they’ve changed! The artwork on the newer cards is incredible – they really use the whole card now, instead of just a small space at the top like they used to.

Determining the “best” Pokémon card artwork is really a matter of opinion. With so many cards released – and each new set trying to be more impressive than the last – there’s a lot to choose from. Here are ten stunning full-art cards that any collector would be thrilled to own; they’re all exceptionally beautiful.

Obsidian Flames’ Cleffa is Adorable & Focuses On Simple Beauty

The Cleffa card (202/197) from the Pokémon TCG’s Obsidian Flames set is incredibly charming. While powerful cards don’t always need to be cute, some of the most beautiful artwork in the game features endearing designs. This particular card shows Cleffa standing on a frozen lake, with the starry night sky beautifully reflected in the ice. A shooting star adds a magical touch above this sweet Pokémon.

I absolutely love this new artwork by HYOGONOSUKE! It shows Cleffa reaching for a shooting star, and it’s just so full of joy. The way the artist drew it, Cleffa looks tiny against the huge, starry sky, which really makes you feel how vast space is. Right now, it’s selling for around $50, but honestly, looking at it, it feels like it should be worth way more. It’s stunning!

Paradox Rift’s Steelix is a Surprisingly Beautiful Card for a Not-So-Beautiful Pokémon

The Steelix card (208/182) is a special, illustrated version from the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: Paradox Rift set, and it’s a bit of a standout. While Steelix is known for its large size and as an evolved form of Onix, it’s not usually considered a beautiful Pokémon. Honestly, it’s no wonder it’s one of the most sought-after cards from the original 151 Pokémon – I’ve seen it going for around $390 right now!

The Magikarp card (203/193) from the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet—Paldea Evolved expansion is a particularly striking card in the set.
