MING’s 29.06 “Peep Show” Watch Features a Dial That Literally Disappears

Summary

  • MING unveils the 29.06 “Peep Show,” featuring a polarization‑based dial that alternates between vivid color and complete black
  • Powered by the Schwarz‑Etienne calibre ASE 200.M1, offering nearly four days of autonomy
  • Limited to 50 pieces, priced at around $24,000 USD

MING recently introduced the 29.06 “Peep Show” watch, which continues the brand’s focus on light and see-through designs with a unique dial that appears to fade away.

MING watches have evolved from a simple, single-color look. Their new design uses linear polarization – a technique borrowed from photography – to create a display that shifts between bright color and complete blackness. Instead of traditional hands, the watch features two discs made of polarized sapphire. When the discs line up, a detailed, textured metal dial with a color-changing finish becomes visible. But as the discs rotate, they block the light, making the dial appear completely black.

The new 29.06 “Peep Show” watch has a durable 40mm titanium case and a unique crystal design that puts the focus on the watch face. It’s powered by the Schwarz‑Etienne calibre ASE 200.M1 movement, which features visible internal components, a small, dense rotor, and a long-lasting battery that can run for almost four days.

Only 50 of these watches will be made, and they cost 22,000 Swiss francs (around $24,000 US dollars). You can buy them directly from MING or through its official retailers.
