The popular thriller series The Last Thing He Told Me, starring Jennifer Garner and Angourie Rice, just released a trailer for its second season. Fans have been waiting nearly three years to see what happens next, and many are hoping the new season will be a success.
The Apple TV series, adapted from Laura Dave’s 2021 novel, stars Jennifer Garner as Hannah Hall, a woman dealing with the mysterious disappearance of her husband, Owen (played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).
When Hannah’s husband disappears while being investigated for stealing money, she starts to connect with her stepdaughter, Bailey, as they look for answers. Their search leads them to uncover some disturbing secrets.

Season two is inspired by Dave’s 2025 novel, The First Time I Saw Him, and features Owen’s return after five years in hiding. However, Hannah and Bailey face challenges as they attempt to rebuild their family, all while being haunted by their past.
Apple TV has just released a trailer for the next season of the show, which is coming next month. The trailer reveals a fast-paced story of the group going on the run, while Hannah questions whether she can truly trust Owen.

Joining the returning stars from season one—David Morse and Augusto Aguilera—are new cast members Judy Greer, Rita Wilson, Josh Hamilton, Nick Hargrove, Luke Kirby, and Elizabeth O’Donnell.
The new season starts February 20th on Apple TV and will have eight episodes. New episodes will be released every Friday until the season finale on April 10th.
Critics had a mixed reaction to the first season, but viewers generally liked it more. Currently, it has an average user rating of 6.6 out of 10 on IMDb, based on over 20,000 ratings.

One viewer described the show as a slow burn that’s ultimately worth the wait, praising its strong story, talented cast, and captivating performances. They specifically highlighted Garner’s performance as particularly noteworthy.
One viewer commented that Jennifer Garner was the main reason they started watching the show, saying she’s consistently delightful on screen. However, they also felt the series moved too slowly and had too many episodes.
In a review of the first season, Common Sense Media noted that while some plot points stretched believability, The Last Thing He Told Me remained an engaging story.
TV Fanatic notes that while “The Last Thing He Told Me” isn’t flawless, it’s a heartfelt series with a good conclusion.
The Last Thing He Told Me returns on Apple TV on 20 February.
